this was our topic for research and essay the other day..it made me realize alot of things and it brought up so very good points to put in the paper.....i think there should be some more censorship used to some extent..but honestly you can't go around censoring everything kids need to know whats going on and plus if they censored everything on some shows they would be pointless...i don't know how everyone else feels about this subject but i think things should be censored when younger kids are watching television but i think there shouldn't be censored stuff later for the adult shows...i don't know its a debatedable subject...i don't know i guess its up to you......you decide...
Should there be more censorship??

yeah, a kid in my english class wrote a paper on censorship the other day... i understand that there is a lot of stuff on tv that people don't think kids should watch, but ultimately it should be up to the parents to censor their kids. Sex and violence sell, so why would someone stop filling tv shows with them? I do think its good how parents can lock some channels or tv show ratings, though. This gives tv shows the freedom to show what they want, while parents can restrict their kids from watching what they deem innapropriate.
I agree my parents have that for my younger brothers and sister although i suffer to cuz i don't know the code to unlock it....yeah

Do you mean government censorship, or adults censoring content for their children? Both are completely different...
The Government has no business censoring content of newspapers, movies, magazines, music, books, and the like. The rating system is good, but forbidding people to see things with certain content is not.
Parents, however, should have control over what their children watch, listen to, and read.
censorship has its boundaries.
i believe that it should be used to some extent. parents are so afraid of their children seeing or hearing bad things because theyre afraid to show or tell it to them. they rely on school and what they hear from others kids to base it on. so, really its weird but it thats how it is.
