Want some research? Lets reserach the women's rights movenment. How women were opressed for centuries and treated as scumb. No wonder men as a race are smarter than women. Intellience is somewhat based on genes. I am "gifted" and studies have shown that children who are gifted usually have at least one parent, if not both, who also qualify as gifted, or were above average students. The same goes for the intelligence level of women. Our ancestors, at least most of them, were not challenged to learn or become educated. It was not until the late eighteen-hundreds that women actually started receiving the opportuinty to receive the same education as men. We have a lot of catching up, oh a couple hundred-thousand years, I might add. Actually, I am surprised women are as smart as we are considering we were opressed for so long.
So while men may win the battle of the sex for now, give it time. I can almost promisewomen will come out on top in the end.

Personally I feel that no amount of data can actually sufice this great topic. As men and women are always changing. Many factors also play into it as well, as are we averaging all males and females. From there on it gets complicated as those who are mentally handicapped interfere with the results. Personally I think I might be the probelm and just made this even a bigger mess.
Ha ha, nice. But in all reality, I dont think duke included the handicapped in their averaging; its duke, you think they would have more commen sense than that.
I agree that no amount of information can ever prove which of the sexes is the more intelligent. No amount.
Does not the fact that we were oppressed for so long and were able to push ourselves through the times and make ourselves accepted prove something about our gender’s intelligence level? And when you look around on an every day basis, you commonly see men acting much less intelligent than the women around them. If that is a result of society’s pressure on men today, that makes them all the less intelligent!
It is impossible to compare the two. With a different set of genes and hormones, men and women excel in different things. And there are always exceptions.
This is laughable.
Based on entrance exam scores, that doesn't show off intelligence, just knowledge.
Im not sure what all it was based on, and what , to you, is the difference between knowledge and intelligence? We all seem to have different opinions.

Knowledge is a store of information. Intelligence is a high level of cognitive ability. Books have knowledge; humans have intelligence.

I think that it would be wise to read the study that you are actually citing Dr. Willard as commenting on, before the responses fly in condemning Dr. Willard and/or Duke University. The study was actually looking at expression of genes (are they on or are they turned off) on X chromosomes from females. This study showed that females actually express more genes than males do from their single X. Furthermore, in comparing different women, the expression of the same set of genes can be very different, implying that every women is unique, especially so considering the expression of the genes she has on her X chromosomes! This article has nothing to do with intelligence of females, but suggests that the genomes (i.e. the collection of genes in a cell and how they are expressed) are different between men and women. In fact, one implication would be that women are genetically more complex than males. So, therefore, I can't see how this study or its conclusions denegrate women at all!

They can take any study like this and shove it up their collective *****. Fill in blank with what your intelligence comes up with. The fact is that women are smart and men should deal with it and treat us like humans. Seeing as equals has been proven not to work as men are to muscle bound for that to happen. We as a race should be ashamed for making women subservient for so long seeing as women have contributed quite a lot to moderen times and convience. And as our "race of man" is at war again, it is up to the women to fill in the gaps in america as the men and some women go off to war again. I suppose all us women should love war as it gave american women the rights we don't have in other countires. Nobody sane likes war but maybe we can use it to give us more rights and be able to extend those rights to the women in other counties so the women here in america can travel the world after the war and the civil war is over in other counties when the men go home to their counties and find that their counties have not fallen apart while they were gone. I don't know if that will happen agian but damn wouldn't it be nice for everyone!
Did the Duke study actually come out and conclude that "men are smarter than women"? I doubt it since they'd probably avoid making such a politicall charged statement.
There are 7 measures of intelligence - which ones did the study target?
Ever consider that definitions of "intelligence" are social constructs invented within the male-dominated world that we live in? Is it any wonder that the results would favor men?
Numerous other studies have shown that women do better academically, etc. Honestly, I don't think one gender is smarter or dumber than the other, just different. We're each better at different things.
