Looking around Progressive U, I see the same old crappy arguments and blogs about the same old crappy things but always with new spins on the same stuff. I know there are multiple blogs about this, but none have given good alternatives to the normal crap that I have ended up wasting my time in reading.
So here are a few examples of different blogs that stick with the ideas of ProU but aren't worn out:
Scyze had interesting blogs discussing different scientific ideas ranging from telekinesis to the Big Crunch theory.
DB usually posts about evolution and tries to dispel the basis of Christianity, he has written some phenomenal blogs on morality from an atheistic standpoint and hope and meaning for atheists. Both of which dispell the idea that atheists are immoral and cynical people.
Fallon rarely rants but she has recently ranted on the lack of parenting skills of some parents. She also has showed the pains but also the reward in her job as a nurse.
Even though Nick is on a neverending quest to bring Pastafanarianism and control the world, he has written a blog on the wonders of Roman architecture. Recently Nick added a blog on the decomposition of the Ozone layer to offset what he and others consider the bullshit from general douchebag himself, Al Gore. lol
Embyrowassup has written on the little known political philosophy that is anarcho-capitalism. Another blog he wrote is about how our sexuality shouldn't just be confined to what genital we're dealt.
I credit Jsaj with opening me up to various greek myths with a couple of his blogs which inspired one of my own. You might consider him to be bashing religions but he really doesn't as we see with his blog about worshipping Apollo.
These are just a few examples of the types of blogs you can write that don't have to do with the same old dead horse beaten blogs and arguments. I'm not saying write what you would write on LJ or Myspace, but write what you know that is progressive. It is ok to write about dead horse arguments, yet it is time to move past them a little and start on new ideas. Many more examples exist out there, but lets try to clean up the crap on Progressive U and write some meaningful pieces of internet literature.

I accused cookie-selling girl scouts of skipping school. I don't know how much more original I can get... ;-)
I'm tired of the same old posts on here as well.

Lol, I approve.
I wrote a thread on how Bin-Ladin doesnt exist............and about the Senate Judiciary Commitee hearings on privacy and the FBI....that were convieniently swept under the rug by the media...
"my first name must be, "He aint sh@t", cause everytime I come through, yall be like "He aint sh@t"!....I'll be dat" --Redman

Yes you did. I just had this blog sitting around from last years competition and didn't really add much to it. I enjoyed those blogs.
I would like a refreshment too, so please post something different! Or read mine on Power of Context :]
Where is mine? It's called click on my name and then my blogs to see them.
well i know my first blog isn't super original, but will you please define "dead horse"blogs for me?
i'm serious, i don't know what you mean, but i'd like to!

Blogs on abortion, gay marriage, religion, and other blogs like that.
you left out why (presidential candidate) is better than (opponent), followed by lots of fluff (usually provided by presidential candidate's campaign, and not always correct), and no real argument.

I did, didn't I. That is another major pet peeve of mine.
There seem to be a lot of chain email cut and paste jobs, as well as "does he love me" cries.
F*** Religion. Read more here:

There certainly are.
...but some of those are original. *pout*
Though, abortion? Yeah. It's definitely a topic I want to blog about, but please people, WAIT A WEEK OR SO. x.x
Yes, some are. Take yours. It was not an original topic on Christianity, but it asked questions I have asked about it.
But abortion is growing old quickly. Nothing new has come up so it is almost pointless to debate it.
I'm flattered.
I agree. Kinda. There's always new members and people who haven't made themselves heard before.
When I DO post about abortion it'll be after the damn subject hasn't been discussed in a while, and I will attempt to make a far better argument than anyone has in the past. Like, with SOURCES and EVERYTHING. But if it's not original or at least significantly better than most the previous posts, feel free to beat me over the head with my laptop.
I'll beat you over the head with God's theoretical walking stick, since if he's really old then he needs a cane or some walking implement.
Ah, but you're forgetting that he doesn't actually have a body and can just as easily choose to appear as a sexy young woman.
The I'll beat you over the head with the book of God's word which I call the Toribran.
Some of them are original... most of them not so much.
You know, sometimes I don't care if they're original or not, as long as the spelling and grammar are good and the paragraphs are spaced. I've noticed a lot of close-minded blogs are painful for my intellectual self to read all the way through.

A lot of blogs in general lately have been painful to read, regardless of their stance.
-- quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
Indeed they have. And it isn't just content either but spelling and grammar problems along with giant paragraph long blogs. It is really bugging me.
Sometimes I read things and I wish
I wish people would just read over what they are about to submit and think to themselves, 'is this something I would hand in for a grade?'
But it only makes me sad because, they probably think it looks just fine.

sadly it seems that asking someone to write grammatically correct is like asking the Nazi's and white supremacists to marry Zionists.
I think it's funny how most of the comments here turned into pouty, puppy-dog fishing poles for compliments.

I suffer from this disease where I crave attention. Fishing for compliments is a symptom.

He didn't mention me in his blog
Of course, I didn't really blog last contest. Too busy doing other things. But rather than do homework or be sad tonight, I'm going to be writing lots of blogs. Not posting them, of course. Merely writing them.

True. I merely posted from last years contest when I was highly involved. I just drifted during the first contest when you posted a lot.
I think there are some other people that have also posted blogs that are good. I believe some of mine have been ok.lol But alot of people have been posting about their boyfriends and things that have already been talked about. I am newer I guess but I have tried. We do need some new stuff on here... I am starting to get bored a little.
Something people should know about:

The stuff about boyfriends and girlfriends really has no place on Pro U and it bugs me. If you want to write about your day then get a livejournal account, don't waste shitty blogs when better ones that are more interesting are being written. I am getting bored as well.
I don't think I have read any of your blogs yet.
