"And say to the believing women that they lower their gaze and
guard their private parts and do not display their adornment save
what is apparent of it; and let them wear their head-coverings
over their bosoms..."
   Holy Qur'an (24:31)

Every once in a while, you see a girl covering her hair, arms, and legs, you probably wonder why in the world would she dress like that in this hot burning weather?

Well, here is the answer. Muslim Girls (girls who cover their hair are Muslims) dress like that to symbolize their religion-Islam.

Islam recommend girls to wear the scarf, but it doesn't force them to do so. Girls who wear it choose to wear it and were not forced to.

I am sure you are now asking yourself:” But why does Islam recommend the Hijab to be worn?"

Islam or let me say Muslim Girls believe that their bodies are not a public displays but rather a private thing that is not for anyone with two eye bulls to look at or touch.

Of course, the Hijab is worn front of guys only but can be taken off front of girls.  Also, the Hijab is not worn incase of emergencies, (imagine a thief breaks into the Muslim girl's house, she won't get busy looking for a scarf to wear instead she will go to the phone and dial 911)

Additional emergences such as having a baby, a fire, helping someone until the ambulance arrive.

As I mentioned earlier, the Hijab is worn front of guys only, but this doesn’t include the following men:

1.      Father

2.      Brother

3.      Uncles

4.      Husbands

5.      Sons

6.      Step Sons

7.      step Fathers

8.      Fathers in Law

9.      Grandfather

If you noticed that there is a connection between them all, Can you guess???

YES!!! They are the people that a Girl can not marry. (Except for the husband) :)

So, Those Girls don't wear the scarves front of girls and front of their relatives (be attention that not all the relatives, they still cover up front of their cousins)

The Girls is recommended to wear the Hijab from the time she is mature, so (Muslim baby-girls don't wear the Hijab)

I hope this answers your question about the Scarf....

I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOUR COMMENTS ON THIS, IT'S WORTH IT.

We had an interesting discussion about the several months ago, courtesy of nasrink. At the time, various places were considering refusing (or fining or some such) to allow women to wear the coverings because they thought it prevented them from assimilating into the new culture. I do have a question though... at what age do they consider "mature"? Is it puberty or a certain age bracket?

On an unrelated note, please consider running a spelling and grammar check prior to posting. Your posts will get a lot more attention and generate a lot more discussion when they're not riddled with spelling errors.

Yeah, like in Tunis girls are not allowed to wear the scarf.

An answer to your question: yes it is puberty

An thanks for the advise, I forgot to do that before I post this blog, I will right now.

I like this post, it seems pretty objective. However, I recently read the book 'prisoner of Tehran' and I have a question:
If the Hijab is optional, why did girls during that time get beat up when they went outside without one?

I am glad that you liked it.
Well, I want to tell you that some people are very strict especially in the old days, they will make it a "life or death" thing even though God is the most merciful, but they steal bet up their daughters for it, it doesn't happen today, I am glad it doesn't, because Hijab is one of the things that a girl needs to like it in order to wear, she can't be forced to cover up because it might lead to hating the religion itself.
I hope this answers your question.

Well, here is the answer. Muslim Girls (girls who cover their hair are Muslims) dress like that to symbolize their religion-Islam.

Yes, Muslim girls do cover their hair. But that does not mean that girls who cover their hair are Muslims. Religious Jews do as well, and I'm sure you can find some conservative Christians that do too. Of course, I think religious Jews start once they get married, not when they're mature. I may be mistaken. Amish girls cover their hair once they join the church. So no, girls who cover their hair are not necessarily Muslim.

True, I haven't thought about that even though it's true.

i didn't know that wearing the scarf was optional. i think that it is very classy for a woman to decide to wear something that she doesn't have to because it shows that she respects herself and it allows others to respect her for her mind
