Love lost but not forgotten

I am an aspiring poet and have been published once already with a notice of another poem scheduled to be published as soon as I give them the green light. I have notebooks full of poetry and have shared them with teachers, friends, and complete strangers. I have gotten a lot of feedback on my poetry, I have even been able to make people break down and cry after reading my poems. I am not trying to brag, and I really like to hear opinions from other people to tell me honestly what they think of my poetry. so if you get a chance here is one of the poems I have written. Please read it and tell me what you think about it.

Love lost but not forgotten

Heavy hearted, but moving on,
For love that could not be returned.
Frustrated that we will never be,
Yet satisfied with the fact that I tried.

I treasure the times we spent together,
Smiling every time I called your name.
Your mere presence opened my eyes,
You were my world, my saving grace.

From the day I first laid eyes on you,
I knew you were one to keep around.
You want most what you cannot have,
Something I’ve fought but cannot win.

So many sleepless nights went by,
Wondering if you felt the same way,
All the time we spent together alone,
Wanting so badly to make you mine.

It took so long to work up the courage,
To admit to myself that this was real.
So long it took me to tell you who I am,
To tell you the feelings I had for you.
