The 1st Ammendment of the Bill of Rights claims that Americans have the right of Freedom of Speech. In ways, I believe that this is a great thing to have. But also gives people the right to use profanity in public places, very loudly, and be completely rude. Then you have the little kids who are allowed to be rude, then justify it with "this is a free country" or "freedom of speech."
As we get older, we begin to think for ourselves, instead of thinking what our parents want us to think, and develop our own opinions. We are taught in school that something is either a fact or an opinion. If its a fact, its either true or false. If its an opinion, it is your personal opinion-it is neither right nor wrong. Have we forgotten this?
Most of us get on this website and write blogs voicing our opinions. Some people act like their opinion is the only opinion in the world, and others are open to others' opinions. But there is always someone who posts a comment who tells you that your opinion is wrong, and acts like their opinions are correct.
Back to what I said before, opinions are neither right nor wrong. They are your personal opinions. The 1st Ammendment allows us to form opinions, but too many people take advantage of that. There is nothing wrong with being opinionated, but there is also nothing wrong with having an open-mind.

I would rather be open-minded than opinionated any day. I think that if you are way to opinionated then you have already shut yourself down to new ideas. I really don't like when people say that you views are wrong. That happens a lot in regards to religion. One person that is super religious has this way of dismissing people as being stupid for not believing in what they do. Sometimes it is better to keep your views to yourself. Even though we do have freedom of speech. One doesn't need to go around trying to make other people upset with their personal beliefs. For instance I am going to be attending a very religious school next year, but that doesn't mean that I am going to walk around with a shirt that says "Atheist" on it. There is a time and place to speak your mind. People shouldn't walk around forcing their beliefs on others.
