Whats the big deal on being gay...

doudos lil girl's picture

i dont get why people make a big deal over gays and lesbians...so what if they like their same sex...thats their bussiness not yours...let them be who they want to be. after all their the ones in the relationship not you...so if they want to be with girls or guys...or even both...let them be. You just go on with your day like nothing cuz you know that if it was you they were telling to do something differently you wouldnt like it. Its so dumb to not let them get married...I mean their a couple right...they love eachother...their not being forced to get married so what could be the problem?...it sounds just as dumb as if you said dont let skinny people get married with eachother cuz their both skinny...or both fat...or both white...or black or whatever...so just let it go...so what if their kissing in the street...like you've never done it...

and for the record..im not gay...i just dont discriminate

The problem is that they don't keep it to themselves. I really don't care what they do, but when they make it public and call for rights and inundate the fine arts, it becomes a problem. Also, refering to these homosexual legal unions as "marriage" is VERY bad business. Is nothing sacred anymore? It has opened doors where nasty things wait to escape. Now people are trying to get "unions" with dogs.
I understand your position, but disagreeing with homosexuality does not make you a racist. It's not a race or ethnicity issue, it's a perversion. Don't think of it as discrimination. It's standing up for principles.

So...when they are being discriminated against...they shouldn't go public with it?

Also...since when were dogs citizens of America? Can they vote and own property too? I don't see it happening.

I guess I don't understand what you're saying...you are card stacking. You're saying that gay people don't keep it to themselves...in the way that heterosexual people do, by holding hands in public and hugging, right? Or...they are actually standing up for themselves in the public eye when they are trying to be treated as equal human beings? And no, disagreeing with homosexuality does not make you a racist...it makes you homophobic. It is discimination however to deny them rights. That's what discrimination is.

So, basically, when gay people start going public with their issues, don't think of it as perversion...think of it as standing up for principles. They just happen to be different than your principles. Like...equality and natural rights.

"Don't think of it as discrimination. It's standing up for principles."

Thats what they said when the tried to deny rights to black people.

As far as the "keeping it to themselves" part fine. But I dont want to see a girl and a guy doing that either. Also about marriage being "sacred" yeah so thats why there are affiars and divorces and people on their 3,4,5th marriage...yup. Marriage is a social tradition it doesnt have ties exclusively with Christianity or any other religion (since all people get married) so yeah. :)

The root:

That was a bunch of wreckless generalization about homosexuals. First off, I dont kiss boys in public or anything like that... but straight people do. So why would it matter if I did? And why can't gay people have rights? It wasn't long ago that women and blacks did not have many rights at all, now I am in this same position. Also, being gay isn't a disease, How can you possibly compare two humans who love eachother to a man wanting to marry a freaking dog? Why don't you just dehumanize homosexuals?

What principles exactly outlaw homosexuality besides a religion that you may belong to? of which there are thousands and thousands of different ones. Maybe I should discriminate against your religion? You chose your religion, I however, did not choose to be gay.

Even though I am heterosexual I am not against gays and lesbians getting married..I actually believe they should make the definition of marriage be "The union between two human beings"..so then you don't have the effect of people wanting to get married to their dogs or cats. Oh and that person in front of me says "The problem is that they don't keep it to themselves" excuse me, but I go any where and I see just as many heterosexuals not keeping things to themselves, just like the gays/lesbians. So don't even go there.I always compare this to segregation. It used to be that blacks and whites couldn't get married...Now it's male & male or female& female can't get married. It is just the segregation of 2006....It is an issue...and when you aren't giving a person rights just because of their background that is discrimination.<3 Lindsey

I try, but you people are just not understanding me. Wanting what you want in spite of it's effect on society is not a valid principle.

I really dont understand your logic. Why is alright for heterosexual couples to "go public" [which I'm assuming you mean PDA] but not homosexual couples? I mean, they aren't making the nasty on the street or anything. Nobody is- that would be public indecency.

And also, the whole calling for rights thing- like KTM said, they are standing up for themselves and demanding human equality. The blacks did it. The women did it. So how can you think that the homosexuals cant?

Now I am still not sure on my position with marriage- I am somewhat torn between the legal definition and the religous definition. But what I know is this: I agree with KTM on the dog thing- dogs are not people and you cant unionize with them! Beastality is illegal in my state, at least!
[also, you must have a pretty messed up mind if you seriously wanted to marry your dog.]

you said that "Wanting what you want in spite of it's effect on society is not a valid principle".

well, i go back to the point on blacks and women. The women fought extremely hard for their rights, although men didnt want them to vote or even to have jobs. Allowing women in the workplace had a very profound effect on society. Why is it bad to make a change in society? to open peoples minds? youre logic makes no sense to me whatsoever.

Im with you on this one brother i think marrige has alot of sentimental and religious value and shouldnt be flung around.

A legal union is ONE THING, but HOLY MATRIMONY is another.

If a church will allow it, then I will allow it. And some churches are allowing it now.

If there is a gay couple living together down the street, does it ruin your family or your life?
