Celebrities Role models: What a Joke

Tagged:

Hello everyone,

I recently saw Britney back in the news, imagine that.  When did our news consist of what celebrity is having their share of problems?  When did our countries values and morals get so screwed up?  Who really cares about what image these celebrities send to our children in America?  I care!

I have two litle girls and some day they will be watching what happens to their favorite celebrity and I can not do much about that.  I do however have to try to reach out and help do something about the way our country reacts to these so called celebrities.  So many celebrities in America have had embarrassing videos leak on the internet, getting arrested for drugs and so on.  Do celebrities not care about their image anymore or has the American public just accepted this behavior as the norm in California.  I for one will not stand for it.  I think that it is degrading and will not let my children watch this behavior.

Do you want your child to have a sex tape leaked on the internet like Paris?  Do you want your child to be at clubs partying while he or she has two children at home like Britney?  Do you want you child hooked on drugs and alcohol before they even turn 21 years of age like Lindsay?  I for one do not want any of this for my children.  I want my children to grow up with respect for themselves and the people around them.  I want them to have good morals and values and be able to help out their communities.

Many children are not being censored in what they watch on tv and the internet and believe that it is normal to act like celebrities.  This is a huge problem.  Our country is going in the wrong direction.  Censor your children, it is the best thing you can do for them while they explore on the net.  Remember you can find anything on the World Wide Web.

Much of the problem in my opinion is the media, they will tell any story and keep it going for days.  This is what celebrities want, they want their name out there and don't care how they do it.  "Any publicity is good Publicity" I think that this statement is so stupid.  What happened to the real news like the War or maybe the Presidential elections and what each of the candidates stand for?  I think that this is the real news.

I want to finish with one more question.    Do the children in America have parents or not? If so then be a parent and know what your child is exposed to through the television and the internet.  Block the entertainment that is not for their age group.  Be your childs parent and not their friend.

I think that why parents aren't censoring what their children watch on TV is because they don't care what their children are watching, even though they should. Also, that's why I'll never let my children watch shows like, "Access Hollywood", "Extra", "The Insider", etc.

I don't think it's the celebrities' faults for kids misbehaving themselves. If anyone is to blame, it's probably those who want to be like stars. They know it's bad, yet they do it anyway. Why? Peer pressure perhaps. Something must have happen to provoke those kinds of actions. Hillary Duff used to be as famous as Lindsey, but she turns out fine! It's depends which stars your kids want to follow. Everyone is human. Mistakes are not aviodable.

I understand your post and agree with you but the fast is Paris, Britney and Lindsay is all you see in the media and the ones that young girls seem to be following. This is what saddens me. There also seems to be a lack of concern on the parents end which also saddens me. I understand that these stars are human and will have problems I just wish the media had better things to talk about because they are driving these role models egos over the top. These girls are wanting the media's attention and we just keep giving it to them. When did our news get so cheap?
