An avalanche of crap

How come when you have a veichle that is working fine on moment tends to break down due to a dozen different things at once? Why does it all have to decide to break all at once? Do all the problems that you car has just get together and cause living hell for you? Its probably obvious right now that i am having car problems.

First, before I go into too many details about it, I will tell you what I have. My truck is a 1981 Ford F-250.(by now, I'm sure many of you are going, "oh, well thats you problem right there." I would agree if it were a newer truck, but old fords are good, as long as they are older than 15 years.) It is 26 years old, and like any veichle thats that old, it needs its standard maintainance, and it gets it. Oil changes when it needs it, new filters on every thing when they are dirty, extra things that help it run better, like fuel stabalizer, and just about anything else you can think of that something like this would normally need. You would thing that being good to it would make it run nicely, but no.

As of right now, I have an unknown problem with either the fuel or the carborator, the cluch just went out on me today, and it likes to run crappy while going down the highway and then fix itsself and then do it again. Then there are the 2 dozen minor problems that are just really annoying. Basically, when you add it all up it causes a big problem, especially since I live 45 minutes from where i go to school everyday with no other way to get there. So, now with a truck that isn't drivable, I can say I'm offically screwed.

Now, your probably thinking, "Why don't you just get a new, RELIABLE, car or something, that'll get better gas milage anyways?" I have another problem there. My parents are divorcing, so i have to pay for all of my own college. I don't have any money (like most college students actually have money as it is) so I can't afford to get a car.

Combined, all these problems leave me witha really big problem that I can't figure how to fix. I have payed for my college, so i have no money, and i live in the country, so i have to have a car to get to work to make money, but my car is broken, so i can't get to neither work nor school. I can fix it, with a little help, but I still need some way to get the parts to fix it. Anyone have any advice?

Have you tried talking to the people you go to school with? Maybe you could 'carpool' or maybe you could find one willing to pick you up. Good luck. I understnd how that is. That's why they say "when it rains it pours". By the way what is UCCS?

Well, that is the problem. i live out in the country, and I'm the only one that i know of that lives around there right now. And I live too far away from town, so there is no way to use public transportation, or ride a bike there. UCCS is the college i got to right now. (University of Colorado @ Colorado Springs)

You could still ask around you never know you may find someone willing to give you a ride (I know you may live far out but if you don't ask you will never know). I have found people surprise you when it comes to that kind of stuff. Maybe if you statred talking about it you could find someone that has a connection to help you get your car fixed. You could also try looking through local churches...sometimes they can help with stuff like that. You could send me an email (or whatever it is write to author). If I lived closer I might be able to help you but I'm in Denver. Good luck.
