Dear Media,
You have consumed my life, not because you mean to, but I just can't seem to live without you. Despite the fact that you promote violence, sex, and bad behaviors, I still face you everyday. Whether it's your online environment or the messages you put across my television screen, I still watch. Sometimes I have to, because my professors want me to learn about the world and what is going on.
But if you are supposed to be such a great source for the world, then why are such negative implications resulting from the information you provide? Let's see, we just had a movie star die because he became depressed from his character. We have actresses becoming pregnant when they aren't married, and anti-depressants seem to consume the lives of those who are constantly under the spotlight.
Why does violence have to occur everywhere? I'm not saying that all violence is a result of the media, but you have to admit that some of it is. I've seen it first hand with my friends. The only reason they want to go to a shooting range or paintballing is to hold a gun. They didn't get the idea from their parents; they told me they saw it in a movie and they wanted to try. If it's in the media then it should be ok, right?
Well, media, I think it's time for a re-evaluation of yourself. Why don't you start releasing stuff that actually applies to us? Why does it always have to be about violence and sex? Why can't the dramas on television be about things that we can actually do something about? Sometimes it makes me wonder if you are even worth looking at, because I know I'm just going to see the same things over and over.
I'm not saying you have to change everything, because you still give me sports, weather, and some good quality stuff, but I'm asking you, will you please consider what could happen as a result of your releases? Because I think a lot more is happening than you think.

Why must you blame the media? It only caters to the masses, so in essence it is the viewers fault for giving the media the ammo and balls to create these show.
My signature pretty much says it
Hollywood is a place where they'll pay you a thousand dollars for a kiss and fifty cents for your soul.
Not the media's fault but maybe if we started rewarding the good instead of glorifying the bad maybe it would lessen. I believe car chases have gone through the roof since the days of OJ and now they are all televised encouraging people to do it more often...how ridiculous!
We give our kids "survivor, cage fighting, and the "REAL WORLD"(perhaps the greatest of all misnomers.) Then we churn these chubby, barely literate, heaps of flesh into the real world. Then we wonder why they don't behave ethically or honorably. What ever happened to the golden rule?
