I'm still not sure about the little catagories so if I put something in the wrong one please let me know and I will fix it ASAP if I can.
The base closings happening in Germany are going to have (having) a good and bad effect. Personally I think that it'll be more of a bad effect than a good one. I'm always one to start with the positives though. The good effect is that Germany says it'll save them money. I personally think it's more of a bad effect than a good one. Some of the bad effects are; Germany will loose tourists. So many people (and yes I'm including myself in that) went to Germany because their families were told to go there. From military troops to civilian contractors. Yet, many of them stayed because they discovered the beauty of the small cobblestone roads in the germany towns, the beauty of the black forest, and much more. American economy will have an even larger problem with jobs. I can personally testify that in small towns there are next to no jobs avaliable that aren't fast food or something having to do with working at a resturant. When all those military and civilians get kicked out of Germany and back into the US they will take more jobs. There will be less for those who want to work and yet don't have certain qualifications, like the disipline and precision you aquire in the military careers. This is just my opinion. I am sure there are other good and bad points to this discussion but I fear I don't know them as of yet. We will see what happens when we have most of our military home from Germany (they are leaving three bases open).
