Junior.... I'm a junior, soon to be senior, and I can't believe that it's almost over and soon I'll be going off to college and doing my own thing. The years just seemed to fly by. When I was younger I couldn't wait for this time to come so that I could grow up, but now I find myself strangely longing for those bygone days of jumping rope, playing hide-and-go- seek, and patty-cake with the other girls. Things seemed so simple then: eat, play, and go to sleep.
Now that I'm in highschool, I'm pensive about all of the changes that have occured. I understand things better now than when I was younger. Sometimes I just look around and gaze at the faces of my fellow schoolmates and I feel suddenly saddened. The same people that I've seen everyday since I began, the faces that i've grown so use to seeing, faces that are so familiar to me, I may never see again. We are not kids anymore, and we all have our own roads to take, our own lives to live. We may not all end up in the same place. Though I pray that they have a wonderful trip.
Often I reminisce of times filled with laughter, tears, and understanding. Though I'm nostalgic about things changing, I know that when everything does change I'll be ready. I'll be ready to experience life and make new memories.
Right now though, I'm just enjoying the time I have before I have to fully grow up. One day very soon I will have to say good-bye to my girlhood and become the woman I was born to be!
Reminiscing and trying to grow up

Well, I'm a senior in high school, and believe me, this disbelief only grows as the days pass. Soon, I'll be in a huge school with over 30,000 students enrolled - way more than my 150 student senior class.
But, I've realized that it really is time to grow up. You always sit back and think of how great your life is going to be and it seems years away- now it's right around the corner. It's a crazy feeling, leaving your comfort zone.
Anyway, what I'm trying to say is, live up your last year in high school. It's the last year you have an excuse to be a kid and enjoy the life you have been living for the past 11 years. It goes by so fast..
