Expressing yourself in millions of new ways

My favorite part about living is doing things that not many other people would do in his or her spare time. While my high school peers are partying and socializing, I’m at home -- learning new languages! To this day -- and I’m 18 years old -- I’ve dropped everything and starting learning thirteen new languages, two of which I‘ve nearly mastered in school and one on my own.. But, thirteen! I have notebooks of all the different languages I’ve seen and become familiar with. That does not mean, by any means, that I have continued learning all thirteen of these languages, but to have a basic background on which of these languages is which, how they’re used, who uses them, and how they may be found in the English language today is truly phenomenal.

I strongly believe that everybody should pick up a language that they think is cool or that they think might benefit them in their careers or in their personal life. It is a proven fact that the picking up of a foreign language works wonders for the way your brain functions, retains information, calculates facts, and definitely organizes itself.

Even if you don’t work to master said language, knowing a basis can help you with your own language! Did you know that? Mastering French was really easy for me because I have a good basis in English, but guess what? I learned tons more about English by learning French! It’s great brain food.

Or, if all else fails, there may always be a language category on Jeopardy, in which case you could always take home some extra moola.

Whatever your road may be, pick up a language book. You’ll love what you see!

(Sinon, je vous donne le pouvoir de me frapper sur le nez si vous pouvez me trouver. =])
