When the Troops Donate

Tagged:

I believe that if you haven’t served in the war, you really don’t know what is happening over seas. We each have our own opinion about what should happen with the war. The troops are the only ones who know how the war is progressing. Recently, the nonpartisan Center for Responsive Politics did an analysis of campaign contributions made by troops who were overseas when they made there contributions. The analysis shows that the troops gave 6 times more to Barack Obama over John McCain. Even Ron Paul, who is anti-war, received four times more money than John McCain. As we all know, Obama wants to make a plan to withdraw most of the troops, and McCain does not want to withdraw the troops. I think it says a lot that the troops are giving money to a candidate who wants to pull the troops out and to another candidate who is totally anti-war. The troops know what is best for this country, and it seems like they think Barack Obama is right for this country. I can't wait till Barack Obama is president and gets us out of Iraq, and save us all that money we are spending over there. Obama 08!

I will be happy when the troops are home as well, but I can't stand Obama or Mccain. There is just something with Obama that bothers me...

Their reason for sending those people money has nothing to do with anything more then wanting to be home safe. As much as I do not want the risk of being the next sent, I rather that option then the other things Sen. Obama is trying to do to our freedoms and country.

Just out of curiosity, why does nobody use titles and sir names anymore? It seems so rude to call senators and presidential candidates by their last name they all disserve at least that respect... Don't they?

Well I don't know what to call presidential candidates because I get yelled at if I call "Obama" Barack or If I can John McCain John. I believe they deserve that respect as well but I also believe other people do it because they don't want to write out their name. But I will call President George Bush. Bush and yes he deserves that much respect. lol.

Well the current front runners are both senators so we could call them Sen. Or presidential candidate (which is a little long) ex: Sen. Obama and Sen. McCain. I was just wondering if there was a reason behind it or if I am just getting old. ;)

Although Sen. Obama has many good ideas, the most of them are scary and wrong in my opinion. I am military, I rather run the risk of being sent to a war zone and the continued spending then mourn the loss overseas and suffer from the loss of our freedoms here with Mr. Obama. I tend to think he is a little socialist and wants the government to take care of things instead of letting the people attain the American dream on their own. Basically I am a little weird and hope Sen. Obama does not stay in politics much longer.

Sorry I can be a bit ditsy sometimes..I see what you are saying. I am sure you are not getting old. :) I think the last name trends come from those banners. Like Obama 08. or Mccain 08.

I agree with you on that one. I have a very bad feeling about Sen. Obama. He wants to drop our nuclear defense which is ok but not such a good idea. The reason is because that renders us defenseless. There is so many things I have problems with as well. One thing is people find him charming and that is why they like him. They don't study his policies and other things. There is alot of twisted logic here. I am hated for wanting Hiliary.

That is cool I didn't know you were in the military! Trust me you are not weird I totally agree. People think I am weird as well. Actually alot of people who are in the military say vote republican. So I don't know.

You know? Honestly, we don't worry too much about politics over here.
You can't generalize a military branch, we're all over here for the same reasons.
The only politics we here are the rules and regulations of our force and the orders or our commanding officers.
It's true, we want out- we want away from this place...
But we don't talk politics- We know Obama wants us out, We know McCain wants to fight in a different way.
We're wanting a chief of staff who is going to pull is in the right direction and actually get something done with this "war".

Take it from a troop overseas.
We're okay, just missing home.
