American Idol is Rigged!

So I don't really watch American Idol, but for some reason I got into this season. And from the very beginning I thought I knew who would win: Chris Daughtry. I fell in love with his voice, not to mention he is super cute. I honestly thought there was no contest, until last night. Chris Daughtry was sent home, the insanity! Everyone I know is surprised I'm still reeling from shock and it's already been a whole day.

So I came to the conclusion that American Idol is rigged. You've already seen the reports on how the contestants you see try out on t.v. have already tried out before those tryouts. So if they rig the tryouts, why not the entire show? They never tell you the exact results, so maybe they sent home the best singer in the world just to spice things up. But that would be stupid, I don't know, I'm just mad.

So if anyone else is as upset as I am let me know. And even if Chris isn't on American Idol anymore, nothing will prevent me from buying his rendition of "Mama, I'm Comin' Home" that was the best ever. But in the meantime, BOYCOTT AMERICAN IDOL!

Not everyone in America feels the way you do. Just because you feel someone should win a popularity contest doesn't mean they will. You can't hope to speak for over a million other people, unless you are a dictator, in which they do on a daily basis.

Very true. I dont know anyone that liked Chris. He was a good singer but not anything spectacular, and not worthy of beating some of the others.

Hey, I never said you have to like Chris, but I personally think he's the best, if you don't thats cool. Rock on.

dudes... Chris Daughtry was voted off because not enought people voted for him. it doesn't matter anyways because he's going to get a deal with one of the rock bands out there for lead singer. possibly Creed of something like that. but he's gonna get a record deal anyways. it doesn't matter.

Not everybody liked Chris, but I do believe that much of the majority liked him. I have considered the possibility that AI is rigged, but I was listening to a talk show and I agree with some of their reasons and also a reason that my boyfriend's opinion let me to believe.

1. People were too confident that Chris was the winner, that they didn't feel the need to vote for him. They figured he already had it made and that enough other people would vote.

2. Many rocker fans stopped liking him after he sung certain songs. I got mad at my boyfriend for saying this, but- he stopped supporting Chris after he sung "Walk the Line." that's weird but people are entitled to their own opinions.

Personally, I was devastated when Chris was kicked off. I just knew he was the winner, I thought there was no way he could leave. I feel guilty though because I never got to vote that night because I had a senior party and my mom waited too late to vote.

I do believe that he deserves a record deal and he will get one. I will definitely buy any CD he records! I think he may be better off without the AI contract, so that he can do his own thing.

American idol isn't as good as American Inventor.

I dn't watch American Idol religiously, but Chris was also my favorite. And it seems like he was the favorite of a lot of people. Maybe his fans just didn't vote though. Maybe they were so sure he was safe that they didn't feel the need to vote. I can't complain because I know I didn't vote. I don't know if you did vote or not, but I don't think anyone who didn't vote can complain.

I voted for Chris, and I got plenty of busy signals. I say there should be a recount of some sort. If you want to vote again there is a cool website that is tracking votes for chris. No Busy signals here. www.i-voted-for-chris-daughtry.com

i've heard that american idol doesn't count all the votes, but i don't think it is rigged. it wouldn't make sense to rig it b/c the winner is the one w/ the most votes- so probably will be the one selling the most cd's.. but the runners up have gotten record deals too, so maybe Chris will also... ^_^

Chris was my fav, but I can see why he got voted off. I usually vote for him and Katherine every week, but this week, he looked pretty ghey in those sunglasses, she just didn't impress me, and I didn't bother voting. Maybe others felt the same way and didn't bother either.

I don't think the votes are rigged, but it has occurred to me that the producers of the show might be manipulating the show by messing with the contestants' heads... because both he and Katherine seemed uncharacteristically insecure during their performances.

I don't think it should be make such a big fuss out of this. It is just a show. There are more important things to concentrate on.

I think this should be the last american idol.

Even though I enjoy the show, I pray to God that it is.

I was upset over the whole Clay and Ruben thing a few years ago and ranted for like a week that American Idol was rigged. But then I realized I was upset over a stupid t.v. show and rigged or not it just really doesn't matter. American Idol is fun to watch as are many other shows but getting too emotional about it just isn't worth it.

Dude, it's American Idol.

That phrase has got to be the wisest group of words anyone has said about American Idol.

agreed, in fact i've quoted it a few times myself since reading it on here. hahah

So what?

People who watch Idols and all those other things are addicted to Drama!!! Go watch a Soapie!! At least it doesnt involve actual peoples feelings being hurt and manipulated!! People who watch idols are sick and enjoy people being manipulated, forced to cry, endure painful an often insulting criticisms...

As for the original post about Idols being rigged... DUH!!! Real life is nowhere near that interesting, they have to alter it to make it more interesting...At the expense of those poor contestants...And even worse for wasting HUGE amounts of TIME and MONEY of the idiots watching such cruelty towards other human beings!!!

You people make me wanna puke...

I enjoy watching people with notable talent. I think the drama aspect of the show is just annoying.

Well I've always had a sneaking suspicion that the show is rigged but I wasnt surprised in the slightest when Chris got kicked off, so I (personally) wouldnt necessarily point fingers just because that particular incident appeared to be "rigged."

Hey, I was just downstairs and my mom goes "American Idol is rigged." (I agree with her but) I asked her reasoning and she told me that Chris's band just got signed (before he got kicked off the show). If a contestant gets signed, they don't really need the show anymore, so they get kicked. I believe Ace got signed right before he got kicked as well. I didn't like him either though.

I just watch it for the horrible things Simon Cowell says to the contestants. I know I'm a horrible person, but they're funny!

Actually, I like Taylor. Simply becasue i love blues, and he is probably one of the only people on american idol, to have made it so far, to sing blues. As for Chris Daughtry, he was good, and he will do fine. I think that being in rock band is better for him than being an American Idol.

I remember watching it quite awhile ago, when the first season of the O.C. was on immmediately following. I thought the show was crap then, and think the same today. But hey, it gives people their fifteen minutes of fame and that's what matters, I guess. The only one to really make it big through this show was Kelly Clarkson, who still manages to get on the MTVs every now and then....actually I always see her on the music video channels. I never see anyone else from the show.

Poor old Clay...Poor Ruben...Poor Fantasia...or something..

God, I don't even like the show. :-P
