A Candidate Should Be?

There is something to be said about the candidates of this year's Presidential Election. We find ourselves again in the position of choosing a President, and have been given some seemingly great and terrible options. We are presented with three candidates at this point, call them Experience, Judgment and Neither. To give justice to our present situation I have a story.

Experience, Judgment and Neither stood at the bridge into
next year. It was a swinging rope
bridge, over a vast canyon with raging rapids.
A misstep would spell untimely death in the jagged rocks below. The three persons looked across and saw a
place they would very much like to be.
It was a place of cooperation and results, unlike the place they were
leaving. Experience takes one look at
the bridge, laughs and crosses. From the
other side Experience yells over that it was just like every time before. Judgement waits to cross after noticing the
fraying rope and split wood. Neither
notices Judgment’s hesitation and decides to seize the opportunity to come at
least in second place. Dashing across in
hurry, Neither breaks a piece of wood and abruptly stops. Neither decides that it isn’t worth it and
starts to turn back after noticing Judgment. Judgment’s patience has resulted in a
discovery of another way. Judgment calls
on the people on the other side, and calls on the people in the present. Together they build a proper bridge, on firm
foundations. It takes Judgement a while
to complete the bridge, but knowing it is the best way forward Judgement
completes it. As Judgement crosses,
Neither starts to turn back. Under
Neither’s foot, another plank breaks.
Neither can only helplessly watch as Judgment moves into the next year.

Food for Thought:

A Candidate Should Be

A Candidate Should be,

But a self effacing representation of the present,

A con man in guise of a preacher?

Telling truths of ambiguity?

Expect no more,

Than misdirection and deceit,

Of modern day Black Sox?

Wearing a new uniform?

Beware indeed,

Those members of past years teams,

Beating the drum to another beat,

Adopting some other motto or creed.
