Before I started bloging on this website, I had never been called ignorant in my life. In fact, teachers and adults had marvaled at my knowledge of most subjects.
But when I said we should ban smoking, I was ignorant. When I said there should be an age limit for driving, ignorant. And when I said I think people just need to shutup about the war in Iraq, guess what? I was IGNORANT!!!!
But here is a little tip for you; just because a person doesn't agree with you on an issue doesn't mean that they are ignorant. No, that just means that they don't agree with you on an issue. They could be just as informed as you, just as intellegent, have read the same books, seen the same stories and heard the same people. Just because they came up with a different opinion does not make them ignorant.
So stop telling everyone on this site that they are ignorant. Because we all are intellegent in our own way and you have no right to belittle a person just because you don't like their opinon by basically telling them that they are stupid.

I'm sorry that you have been attacked for your opinions. It took me a while to get use to some very brutal and honest comments that my blogs received. Ignorant is not suppose to be a bad word, it means lack of knowledge. I am ignorant in a lot of things. The way I see it, you obviously know what you are talking about to write the blogs that you do.....like you said, it just might not be what everyone wants to hear? Oh well, don't stop blogging, I almost did but I got over that!

It's true you may not be ignorant, but I still wouldn't pass up the chance to read Flannery O'Connor's "Everything That Rises Must Converge" if I were you.
I think we should ban smoking. . .It smells and it affects other aound you who don't smoke like me! But it'll neva happen cause then you'd have to ban alcohol and drugs.
just like the rest of us. Okay i am just being silly but seriously some people take the freedom of speech way past productive and comments cannot even remotely be considered constructive criticisms. Part of the reason I joined this site is because I thought it would have a constant forward motion, not the ignorant flooding around the ankles that happens far to aften by negativism. IS it wrong to call it ignorant? Any way good point and thanks for the blog.

This won't stop until everyone learns the true meaning to ignorant. The same thing with hypocritical. And everyone needs to realize that you are ignorant when it comes to certain things. For example I am ignorant in nuclear fission.
You can not be ignorant when giving an opinion in which that is how you and I both are called ignorant most of the time.

the meaning of ignorant and intelligent are not interchangeable. they have entirely different defintions. ignorant means uninformed or unaware, lacking a certain knowledge. intelligent means "having good understanding or a high mental capacity; quick to comprehend, as persons or animals" (dictionary.com) therefore when someone accuses you of being ignorant, they are not making an attack on your intelligence, but your lack of knowledge about a certain subject. be aware of your ignorances, but don't think that ignorance is a lack of intelligence. you can be very intelligent and very ignorant.

Don't pay attention to those who call you ignorant. We live in America, and you have the right to freedom of speech. I hate the way people think now-a-days! If its not what they want to hear they call you names, and if it is something they want to hear...they still call you names, like ignorant, because they hate to admit they admire your thoughts.
