Are you registered to vote yet?
I am eighteen years old and registered to vote today. I wish I registered earlier because I don't think I will get my card by the time the primaries are here. They are less then a month away. I am currently attending a community college and a women from the county court asked if I wanted to register to vote. I think that is the best question that I ever got asked in a long time.
I feel so proud that I have registered to vote. My father is 56 years old and has never registered to vote. He keeps giving excuses for why he hasn't registered yet. He says "I am too old." "It's too late." You are never too old to register to vote. It is never to late to register to vote. Doesn't want to have an impact on how our country is ran? Doesn't he have any beliefs? Honestly, he doesn't have any. Well he has never expressed them to anyone in the house. It makes me sad for him.
I don't see why it is so hard for someone to register to vote. There are so many young people my age who aren't registered to vote. It took me about 45 seconds to fill out this piece of paper and the women took it from me. She told me that I would get my voter's card in about two to three weeks. What is so hard about that?
Registering to vote was something I have wanted to do sinceĀ I was 13 years old. I remember when the whole VOTE or DIE epidemic was happening on MTV. Their were over 21 million young adults from the age of 18 to 24 registered to vote. I feel it can be so much higher, I am glad to say that I am now a part of those 21 million+ :]

Congrats on your card! It feels so great to know that your vote is shaping the future. Now that you have the power, use it wisely by educating yourself on the issues at hand before hitting the polls.
