why do some women let men walk all over them

I really do not understand why does Gov.Spitzer's wife still stand by him. The guy cheated on her and she is standing by his side when he was resining looking perfectly fine, like she does not care that he humilated her and their children. She is not only one,most of these politisians wives continue being married to them even though they cheated. I honestly can not understand these women, why would you let a man walk all over you, it seems to me like they don't respect themselves.If my guy ever cheats on me, i'm sorry but that's it. The end.It does not matter how many times he repeats that he's sorry or how many times he sais he loves me.Because if you love somebody you do not cheat on them.I respect myself and therefore I won't let anyone else disrespect me and humiliate me. I can understand that they maybe want to save their marriage but if he did it once, he'll do it again. And what kind of marriage is it if you do not trust your partner?Not very good one for sure. So help me understand this, would you stay with the guy who cheated on you?
