Sherlock Holmes: The Hound of the Baskervilles by Arthur Conan Doyle
Journal 1 of 9

The book I am reading is Sherlock Holmes: The Hound of the Baskervilles by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. I choose this book because it is a mystery book and I enjoy reading a good mystery.

So far, up to page eighteen, Sherlock is sitting at the breakfast table holding a stick. The stick was fine and thick. Written on it was “To James Mortimer, M.R.C.S. From his friends of the C.C.H.” “1884.” Sherlock and his friend Watson are trying to figure out who this person is and if that person has any connections with the death of Sir Charles Baskerville.

I believe that after Holmes and Watson meet Dr. Mortimer and here about him, they are suspicious of him. They can't seem to make sense of why Mortimer went to become a country doctor and abandoned his doctor career in London. I think in return of their suspicion. Mortimer told them his reason for doing so was because he was just wed and wanting to make a home of his own. As most mysteries do, they want you to believe that the first suspicious person they find committed the crime. However I'm not falling for that trick. I think that Mortimer is telling the truth and is not their killer. I believe Holmes and Watson will soon find that out in the next chapter or so.
