You have to read this!

Two million dollars worth of Xbox 360’s were stolen in the UK It's the second truck-hijacking in a month. The thieves opted to steal the older xbox 360 rather than steal the much more prized Wii's and increase their odds of getting caught.

I never really considered that someone would attack a truck driver just for doing his job.

But apparently when you're carrying prime items the risk increases drastically.

Via iTwire:

...the previous hijack netting more than US $12m motherboards and what are rumoured to be Intel processors. Astonishgly, the truck heist has happened to the same trucking company twice – in this case Hellman Worldwide Logistics who must be asking what the truck is going on as they have ordered an internal review.

In the case of the latest Xbox 360 heist, thieves were able to convince a Hellman truck driver that something was caught underneath his wheels. When he stopped the truck and got out, he was beaten up, left by the side of the road and the consoles were stolen.

...Local police authorities are reported to have wondered why the thieves hadn’t tried to pick up a truck of PS3 games consoles which would theoretically sell for much higher prices than Xbox 360s, but perhaps this was a smart move by some dumb criminals who thought Xbox 360’s might be easier to sell and easier to conceal as stolen goods, but not being a criminal ourselves we can only speculate.

Dumb or dumber (the thieves) I have no clue. But at least the drivers will recover.

But truck heist IS not a lonely event. Ask the insurance companies of the top trucking firms in our country and they'll tell you: "Security and the saftey of our drivers is the number one concern."

Of course the security of their products are important. A long time ago a friend told me how thousands of dollars of cigarettes were stolen from a company truck. Their head office took this quite seriously!  Here's hoping they dont penalize the drivers when stuff like this happens...  Put the blame where it belongs, DONT raise their insurance premiums!

But I'll wonder after reading this who bought these stolen goods. Did they have a clue that they might be stolen and did they even care?

I know I'm very broke, but if somoene offered me a expensive xbox or Wii for $150, I'd definitely assume it's hot.

The things some people will do for thier entertainment systems!  Just a little bit scary isnt it?
