When I was in high school, I had a teacher who described the Democratic party as being schizophrenic: "On one side, you have the construction workers who are like, 'gay what?' and on the other you have the green peace, gay rights, save the dolphins for Jesus people." I'm probably one of the latter. I'm not a Democrat--I'm registered as a Green Independent--but I am pretty liberal. I think being liberal basically means that I not only think we can save the world, but plan on doing so.
Sometimes I really don't think politics or governments can do any real change. We have to revolutionize society (or at least some part of it) to care and to be as progressive as we are. Everyone needs to wake up and be aware of the global situation, the rest of humanity, and themselves.
That being said, a little bit about myself: I'm a writer obsessed with DIY and self-suffiency. Self-actualization is my goal... lots of use of the word "self in this entry... . I believe that if you want something done properly, then you have to do it yourself. I can't just sit around and wait for things to happen; I don't.
