Alright, here's what burns my biscuits. I understand that sometimes blogs say everything you wanted to say, that you don't want to say "I agree" because you think it's a sort of waste of input. I also understand that some people are readers and not participators. Here's the problem I'm facing: I'm trying to create change over here! I have almost no input on anything I write! I've got a blog with 4,000 freaking hits and no comments and no votes! I don't know if any of my writing inspires people, gives people good ideas, or if people hate them, have seen things just like them before, or what. Part of the problem is that as I write this, there are 14 users and 920 guests online. To all you guests, get of your asses and register! I'd appreciate votes, that way you don't even have to think of something clever to say! I mean, this is ridiculous. The blog with the most comments is the one that references politics and Hillary Clinton. I love politics, but how come only hot-button issues like abortion and political current events get recognition? How come comments only come in the form of debates, most of which are not intelligent? How come nobody votes!?!?!
And, end of rant. Back to business.

I feel your pain. And just so you know, I do read what you write. My problem is more time related. By the time I get through a post, it's time to move on to the next or the next duty on my list which leaves little time for actual thought provoking discussion. I do promise, however, to comment on your social security post at some point today. It's already on my list of things to do. Hang in there. You're doing a great job and we appreciate the efforts and thought you put into your posts!

I share your pain as well, though it might be to a lesser extent. One of my posts has nearly 2000 hits but only a handful of comments. I almost wonder if our writing is too good, well-thought-out, etc. o.o

I don't think that it's your writing that's bad. Just, sometimes, people have a hard time commenting on things. It's kind of like the voting slump that's been happening in our country for so many years. It's not that your writing is too good, or utter crap, or anything in between. It's that people don't feel a whole lot of motivation anymore. Sadly, most people just don't give enough of a shit.
I understand wholeheartedly where you're coming from, though, and yeah, it is frustrating.
Fallon, my post isn't aimed at the A-Team. I don't expect you guys to comment hundreds of blogs. Thanks for posting this and the comment on my Social Security blog. You guys do great for all the crap you have to put up with.
Dragonwolf, nice to know other people know where I'm coming from.
Spratty_Duck, I can understand that, but I won't just stand idly by and accept it. We have got to do something to turn these 950-plus people into users, and then we need users to vote. Like I said, sometimes it's hard to comment something, but it's not hard to say, on a scale of 1 to 5, how much you liked it.

Thanks, dear. We do like to comment when time allows for it. That's part of what brought us here and made us decide to become members of the A-Team in the first place. We don't like any of you to feel ignored, though in reality we often spend more time talking with some of you than others. Though generally, if you aren't hearing from the A-Team, it's a good thing, it means you aren't breaking the rules or getting complaints and that's where a heck of a lot of our communication comes in... more than I care to count really. :)

Keep in mind that the people that do vote can only vote on 25 blogs per day...
I'm honestly more concerned with getting the 34,000 members that aren't active active again, rather than getting the 1000 or so guests on at any given time registered. I like to keep people, rather than just invite new people to make up for the difference.

I say we strive for both. Find ways not only to reactivate the old members, but to attract the new members enough that they'll sign up.

Wow, I had no clue there were that many inactive users. Damn! And as for the voting thing, touche. I suppose all I ask is that if you read my blog all the way through, and you're a registered user, vote on it. I don't think most of the users vote all 25 times per day.

Before I read this blog and these comments, I thought that why some of my blogs aren't getting votes and comments is because I thought that nobody on this site liked me, even though nobody doesn't know me outside the Internet and even though I'm not a bad person, offline.
Read my blog!
Like you said, some people only read blogs and don't comment on it. I don't really have a problem with that though because as long as I see there are people reading it, I can safely assume that they get the point. Actually, I've read blogs that stated something like "If you don't have any thing good to say, then don't say it at all." Maybe the readers agree with you so much that it's better not to comment. Or they can be just plain lazy. As for the rating, it slips my mind very often. Every single time I think about rating this or that blog, as soon as I finish leaving them a comment, I often forget to rate. lol
I'd prefer not seeing a comment at all rather than seeing someone make a really short and pointless comment. I'd rather not get a rating at all than having someone rate me one or two star just because that person doesn't agree with me.
