You know what makes made as hell, I mean beside stupid people? Stupid people who think the government owes them something and have no idea about anything. In one of my online classes we are currently having a discussion on this nutrition and the government role.

Some of the things they have come up with or said from lack of knowledge are astounding. I do not claim to know anything about this subject, as you can see here All I know is the government should butt out, and yet they know even less.

Here are some of the things they have written:

"I think that the government focuses to much on the poeple who cannot afford verses the world as a whole." ~Desiree

"As cheif policy maker I would make everyone accountable by using our government.  For one I would discourage the purchase of bio engineered foods.  These foods lack nutrients, ... Junk food for instance needs to be erradicated.  Next time you go to walmart just observe what everyone has in their cart and what someones buys their screaming and crying child just to get them quiet.  You can practically feel your arteries clogging from the observation.  ...  I would give huge tax breaks, and benefits to farmers who grow/ raise organic foods this way cost of purchase will go down.  I would increase the tax to a godawful amount on foods that encourage poor health.  In schools I would require in conjuction with Physical education that a nutrition class be taught, and information sent home to parents on proper foods for your health.  I would also require that those lists they send home for fundraiser stickers be placed on these foods that are healthy for you, instead of on things like cheerios, kleenex, and fruit rollups.  I would require that every person diagnosed with a diet related health issue like diabetes, hypertention, high cholesterol, be required to see a nutritionist or dietician with the goal being to decrease medication abuse, and increase awareness in how much foods play a part in our long term health.  If not complient to certain standards that their insurance be revoked, or premiums increased.  One sure fire way to monitor this is to do away with multiple insurance companies,  create a universal health insurance which is monitored by our government. " ~ Kara

"If it is our "right" to eat what we want and live the way we want, isn't that a form a of government being involved? Isn't the government the people who gave us our "rights?" I do agree with free access to gyms though. I love going to the gym, but I will not pay for it. Gyms on military bases are free, and they are funded by the governmnet. I don't see why other gyms can't be as well. And jobs do give us time to go to the gym, they call it lunch." ~Erica

These are just two examples that I thought I would share with you all for a good laugh
