Kerry's FIRST WORDS since PRONOUNGATE

Chris Wallace from Fox News interviewed John Kerry today. It was billed as "John Kerry's first words in 3 weeks since his botched joke..."
But instead, John Kerry kept bringing it back to the key issues and the Democratic agenda. He made it clear that he's always had the policies that people voted on - Iraq, health care, energy and jobs.

The Democrats should take a lesson on this. Fox News and Chris Wallace had attempted to set him up, the way they set up President Clinton, yet it failed. Why did it fail? It failed because John Kerry refused to let them continue the smear. He "took it to them" and refuted their spin directly to their face.

He was absolutely right. The last thing the Republicans wanted to talk about a week before the election was Iraq. And yet, despite the two day smear-fest, for the rest of the week, the focus was exactly where it needed to be: On Iraq! Before the election, they wanted the focus to be on John Kerry v George Bush and it failed, the focus was on Iraq. Today the focus was suppose to be on the botched joke, but that failed as well. The message to us was clear and precise: the issues we care about, he's stood up for before and can be counted on: health-care, jobs, Iraq, and health-care.

Fox and Bush wanted to squash John Kerry. Instead, they ended up showing how lame their smears are instead. If John Kerry decides to run for President again, and he made it clear that the ridiculous smear hadn't caused him to change his mind, surely the media will wear out of writing the same summary of the botched joke. The legs have long been gone on the story and as the blue tidal wave showed us, the last week's constant discussion on Iraq was one of the vital reasons why Democrats won back control.

So, perhaps we can finally bring in death-knell of "Pronoun-gate."

And maybe we can finally get our act together for resisting the smear and spin machine of the mass media.  If John Kerry can do it, so can the rest of us!

Death to the spin machine!  Onwards to good ON TOPIC interviews adn debates on subjects that really MATTER to the American people.

Love the "pronoungate".
