The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand is unoppesedly (if that is even a word) by Favorite Book of all time. It is plain amazing no lie. If you have read the book i am sure you agree but I would like to discuss the Temple Roark made 9i might blog about the rest of the book later but it is so much to cover). Now in the book the Antagonist (BADDIE) told a wealthy investor who wanted to make a church to emplay a man named Howard Roark to build it. The man having no real personality of his own (maybe i should say Back Bone) completely listened and employed Roark. Now Roark is the prime example of the individualist. He only cares about the building he is making and that is all, he cares nothing for people, power, and fame.

With that said when he made the temple it was made for his design on what religion is. Now the temple was not made for true religion but what religion should really be. It states in the book (which if anyone knows any quotes please throw them out here) that he made it to show what man should be and how man should show themselves.

So... how should man represent it's self? To be the proudest creature on earth. When man stands he should be above all things i mean look at us. We have created the most beautiful structures. Look at our art and what we can do. Show me some other creature who has made what we have. Electrity, Autommobile, Space crafts, and computers should be given credit to Man, not god. When i hear some one say thank something that is not man for something man made it pisses me off. Look when an Architect makes a beautiful building nothing helped him he made it with his hands and his imagination. Not until i read this book did i truly see what i always believed. I thank Ayn Rand for showing me that , not a super deity that put it into her head.

This is our only possesion, the only thing that makes us stand out... so in my opinion we should all stand up and let it be known that this is who we are
WE ARE MAN.
much like the chant on Little Rascals "HE-Man Women Haters"(just a quote i don't hate any woman at all.)

So...The Fountainhead is about a church being built? Hmm, never thought of it. You probably read it for that scholarship contest, right? Or was that "Atlas Shrugged" by Ayn Rand? Now I've gone and confused myself.

That Fountainhead has alot more to it than just a church the book focuses more on the people like the life of Howard Roark, Peter Keating, And Ellsworth Toohey. The church part is just like a single event in the book that i felt was important. Atlis shrugged is also a scholarship but i have not read that one. Anthem is also a book by Ayn Rand but is alot shorter and easier to read though very close to being as good as the Fountainhead. i would reccomend both with alot of emphasis
