Florida Shouldn't Be Allowed to Have Democrats

Why is it that each presidential election Florida Democrats have to do something stupid?

As you probably (hopefully) already know, the primaries for Florida and Michigan will not be counted. As you probably (hopefully) also know, Hillary Clinton won these two primaries.

However, because of Democratic National Committee (DNC) rules, those two states' delegates will not be represented in the Democratic convention. What happened was rather simple: The DNC stated that no states other than Iowa, Nevada, New Hampshire and South Carolina were allowed to have their primaries before February 5th. Michigan and Florida violated that rule and therefore had their delegates removed from the national convention.

As it became apparent that Hillary would not win the primaries, she and others have been pushing for those states' delegates to count.

But today, it went to another level. Florida State Senator Steven Geller filed a lawsuit to demand that the Florida delegates be counted. This is, in my opinion, retarded.

You might recall back in 2000, after we were done partying (because it was 1999) that Al Gore filed a similar case to the Florida Supreme Court demanding recounts. Why, then, would I believe that the FSC has jurisdiction there, but not here?

It's quite simple really: The Democratic Party is not a governmental mechanism. They have their own rules, and have no duty to represent their constituents' interest at all. The system for choosing their nominee could just as legally be chosen purely by party officials (as it was done before 1972) without public voice at all.

State Senator Geller is doing nothing but wasting the money of the Florida population and the time of the American people.
