Do you remember playing with Barbies when you were little? I know I played with mine every day. But now all you here is Barbie thats why little girs are so thin. Thats why teengagers are anarexic and bulimic!
No I don't think so. Now Barbie is getting changed because she is too skinney so she'll get a wider waist, slimmer hips and a smaller bustline. Her toothy smile, oversized eyes and big hair will be replaced with a closed mouth, straighter hair and a normal nose. But Honestly that is our Barbie if we change Barbie do we change GI Joe? How would the GI Joe of the future look like hmmm....I don't know.... Just give him love handles and a pot belly, put a little less hair on his head and a little more on his back. Take that scar off his cheek and stick it where it will reflect his recent vasectomy operation. Redesign his pistol-grip right hand so that it accommodates a can of GI Joe beer and stick a GI Joe Camel cigarette between his teeth. The new GI Joe no longer comes with a gun, however, a threadbare recliner and a remote control that needs batteries are included. Nagging wife and kids are extra.
How exactly do we even say Barbie is a bad role model!!! I wish i was like Barbie! She is a great role model!!
Meet Barbie, a 36 year old, successful, single woman who owns a Dream Home and drives a convertible Corvette. She loves children and animals, has lots of neat friends and sees life as an adventure. By all accounts, her virtue is still intact. She has never had an abortion or a child out of wedlock. She doesn't do drugs, doesn't drink, doesn't smoke. There is a man in her life, Ken, but she does not depend on him for her happiness. Barbie is her own woman and she makes her own way. And yes, she does have a really cool wardrobe, but that doesn't mean you won't find her at Wal-Mart every now and then.
But everyone thinks Barbie is so bad. I mean if I had kids I would rather them look up to Barbie than Brittney Spears. I mean if they keep changing Barbie to fit today's standereds whats next the marketing a "Single Mother Of Nine Living On Welfare" Barbie. And the "I Do The Same Job As Ken But Get Paid Much Less" Barbie. And don't forget the "You Can Tickle Me For Fifty Bucks" Barbie.
Get Real and leave Barbie alone.

Definitly! You are totally right. I played with barbie and my younger sisters still do. Barbie really is a symbol of the fun things in a girl's childhood. Friends, dress up, and adventures. And also, I prefer Barbie over Bratz. I'de say those dolls are bad role models, with their styles and attitudes.
May the Force be with you...and God bless.
I always think of Bratz as the ho's of toys, but thats just me
me too.
I stumbled on your post going a Google search, and have to mention that the middle-aged GI Joe you mentioned actually exists, as a licensed Hasbro product no-less! The "GI Joe Aged Adventurer" was issued as a limited-edition convention souvineer for the 2004 GI Joe collector's club convention in Orlando. This is a member of the 70s GI Joe Adventure Team, so he comes with Kung-fu grip, but his "life-like hair" is gray and missing on top. Pictured here:

One could conclude that having GI Joes as a child leads one to have a sense of humor about one's self and one's interests. For futher evidence of this (for or against, you decide) see

lol I am not beliving this! Thanks so much for the link!
Just went to look at it. Its cool that it exist, However I think mine would be alot cuter.
If barbie is so popular then why do you have to buy her friends? Well anyways I thought I'd ask that. Jokes aside, I don't want to be like Barbie, I dont want to weigh a neat 120 pounds with perfect blonde hair and blue eyes, gorgeous straight teeth, a perfect nose, breasts that are exactly equal, and every damn thing I own Pink. I think that barbie teaches girls that they should look like that...I'm happy to be tall with curves, short brown hair, big feet, glasses, not so perfect teeth, flat shoes, and oh my! a car that isn't a pink convertible. However, I don't think they should change Barbie. I know I contradict myself right? No I just think that Mothers need to teach their daughters that yes, barbie looks like that but you are so much more beautiful that barbie could ever be. Your curves, dimples, maybe a bump in your nose or a gap in your teeth> Barbie needs clothes and accesories to give her personality. We don't.
I use to pull the heads off my barbies, does that mean I'm going to turn up to be a mass-murder when I'm older? Um...yeah how can they blame barbie for making young girls have eating disorders. Blame the media and the pressures of society, but barbie? Ok whatever, these people are just trying to sue mattel or something.
.x.Michelle.x.
Michelle if you are a mass murder, I am a dictator of the US. We both know this isn't true. I agree iwth you though, its the media's faught they can't very well sue someone for being to skinny, but they can sue a doll company.
I am completly in agreement with you. Barbie was just a toy that little girls play with. When you're little, you dont pay attention to how things look. Its once we hit those preteen years that we start paying attention to what other girls look like and care about what we look like and by that point Barbie has usually been pushed to the side.

When did everything become so politically correct, aren't role models supposed to beyond ourselves, and barbie has always showed girls that they could pursue any proffesion and still be hot.<3 Tina

Shut up.
You talk like an idiot trying to sound smart.
