Is Mormonism a Christian heresy? A religion that is under Christian foundation, but undercuts the heart of what Christianity is truly about? Yes. We use the same termonolgy, sing the same Christmas hymns, and believe in Christ our Savior, but Mormon's definitely have a branch all their own. Mormonism is similar to Gnosticism (in the New Testament) in which they believe this savior is going to come (similar also to Christianity), but what happens is this redeemer comes and he is this knowledgable and secret knowledge or "his way," of escaping our sins and takes us to this spiritual realm. Salvation is through knowledge and not through Christ's death on the cross as in Christianity. So the main differences are 1. how we are going to be saved and 2. how are we going to escape it. Therefore I struggle with calling Mormons Christians.

I understood your entry until halfway through... and either I'm just totally stupid or there were some typo's made, and I hope it's the latter.
So correct me if I'm wrong, but the your statement was that Mormons believe you are saved by knowledge, and not by Christ?
As for the two points at the end, the second one needs a bit of clarification, with the "it" having no identifyable reference (other than possibly escaping being saved, which I'm pretty sure you didn't exactly mean, as no Christian religion aims to avoid being saved)
In giving respect to God we are Latter day saints .A true Christian is a follower of Jesus Christ in all things keeping his commandments and seeing to the poor and the needy .there are also millions of false Christians that profess that they are Christians and yet they follow not the example of Jesus Christ and belong to all sorts of churches. There are also many so called Latter day Saints that do not follow the example of Jesus Christ and call them selves Christians. why because of there Pride thinking that they know better why in fact they know nothing. And keep not the commandments of God for they are they that seek to Mock God but God says that, God will not be mocked .and they who take it upon them selves to justify them selves in breaking Gods commandments will suffer when they stand before God to be Judge .remember this and always strive to be an example to all those around you and God will bless you that is the promises. Look, I appreciate that this is what you believe we think, but please check your facts. First of all, Mormons definitely believe that salvation comes through the Atonement of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. He died for us and rose again to redeem the world. He is the light and the life of the world, and there is no other way but through Him that we can be saved. Mormons believe all this, just as other Christians do. Second of all, I don't know what you're talking about with the salvation through knowledge thing. God is a fair God and He will not punish one of His children for ignorance of His Word. He will give everyone a chance to be saved, and it is through our faith in him as well as our good works that we will be saved. if we believe in Him and act on this faith, He will not deny us entrance into His Kingdom. There is no "secret way" and no "salvation through knowledge". It is salvation through the Atonement and keeping the commandments of God and please do not let anyone else tell you differently. Please, please, please check your facts before you go publishing things about other peoples' religion. If you want the true facts, try www.mormon.org or some other websit that is actually published by Mormons. I'm pretty sure Mormons know what Mormons believe.
