Smoking SUCKS

Tagged:

Yes seriously smoking does suck, the air out of your lungs, since most of us are at or over 18 and can legally buy them. I have to warn any smokers out there that I hate smoking and this entire blog is to my reasoning why. Not only can smoking lead to lung cancer, bronchitis, and heart disease, it can KILL. It may take a while but why wait to die a slow death? It can also affect people who spend a lot of time around you who breath in your smoke clouds of poison. They can also get dangerous diseases and symptoms, heck even pets can.

Did you know cigarettes are made with many toxic chemicals like rat poisioning? Who knows maybe the cigarette companies put anything they want in them. Maybe they like to mix in ammonia, poop, and bark. There is no ingredient label. It is not just tobacco plants. Ironically cigarettes are made with methane with is the same chemical your FART is made of, no wonder why they call it cigarette "butts". (lol)

I also hate when smokers litter their "butts" everywhere! A lot of them think it's ok to throw it out the window of their car. #1 that "butt" isn't all natural, #2 it's litter, #3 the spark on the cig could ignite something like the oil that just poped out of the exhaust pipe. If smokers are going to puff their death fogs for non-smokers to breath in might as well kill the environment too.

I don't hate smokers, but I do hate smoking. My grandfather died early from smoking so long. By the way marijuana isn't any better either.

Not that my personal experiences have any basis towards you, but it does help your aguement. My grandfather has a whole in his lung and still smokes!!! My uncle had a heart attack and he still smokes, my other grandmother and grandfather both smoke and have a horrible cough, I could only imagine what their lungs look like. It's only a matter of time before they start dropping like flies (not to sound could) but I have to get use to the idea they wont be around for to much longer. Not to mention most of my aunts, uncles and even cousin now smoke. It's rediculous and I'd rather have them alive for most of my life but it is their choice... so I deffiantly understand and agree with your arguement!
*Chels*

That is a lot of smokers in your family. If you care about any of them, helping them quit would be nice. (Maybe buying bubble gum cigarettes or pretzels to replace their cigarettes in the box or getting them help from special quit smoking groups). As for you, you should try not to second hand smoke and ask them to smoke outside if they are in your home.

I can't stand smoking either. I've always been sensitive to smoke, probably since my mom worked in a smoke-filled environment all the while she was pregnant with me, up to the last month. My dad smokes around me, and it's horrible!

Only in a society so filled with noise is silence viewed as deafening.

I'm a non-smoker, and I realize the dangers that smoking presents to those who choose to do so. That said, aside from littering, there isn't any legislation that should be passed against smoking. Ever. It's someone's right to smoke.

Also: Oil doesn't come out of exhaust pipes. Smokers don't create "death fogs." I agree smoking is bad, but it sounds like you've got a pretty strong agenda against it. And apparently are misinformed about marijuana as well.

What is that rainbow stuff in the puddles near exhaust pipes then? and I was just exagerating smoking by calling it "death fogs" and marijuana is just as bad as cigarettes. If you are going to say I'm wrong give me some FACTS.

Why should I have to counteract with facts when you've given none of your own? I'll do research to refute your claims when you do research to establish your claims.

Who gave me one star for this blog? I bet it was Tim. At least someone voted. Does one star mean good enough to read for fun? ;l

No. It wasn't me. Just because I disagree with you doesn't mean I'm going to sling a low rating at you. I generally don't rate blogs.

Marijuana is not as bad as cigarettes simply because it is not addictive. Sure, if you smoke it every day it'll hurt you... but occasional recreative use is not going to do any harm.

I enjoy smoking cigarettes. Sure, it's bad for me, but it's not affecting me in the short term so I don't care. When I decide to have children, I will stop smoking.

Many pleasures in life cause harm in the long run. Fatty foods for instance.

Ok so you drink and smoke, typical teenager. You need to get your facts straight, there's a reason why marijuanna is illegal and cigarettes aren't. Though smoking won't affect you now, why do it if it will affect you later on in life? Plus it gets expensive $4 a pack times 7 days time 4 weeks = about $ 112 a month which I rather use for shopping... And there are short-term effects: yellow teeth, bad smell, asthma, coughing, and let's not forget shorter life span in the future.

O.o Why do you assume I smoke a pack a day?

Do you eat fatty foods? Do you think they will not affect you later in life?

Teen pregnancy is bad, mmmkay?

"there's a reason why marijuanna is illegal and cigarettes aren't."

Yea, like the tobacco industry lobbied for legislation against it. Marijuana was being used medically at the time and was considered very positive, so when they began to work to prohibit it they chose "marijuana" because it was the Mexican Spanish version of the word. That's right, they made pot look bad because most people were racists at the time.

There's not a medical reason why marijuana is illegal and cigarettes are not, and I've yet to see a study that would make tobacco come out on top as far as health.

"Though smoking won't affect you now, why do it if it will affect you later on in life?"

Well, IF she quite as she said she plans to, it's quite likely that there will be no long term repercussions as the lungs are able to heal pretty well over time.

Get your facts straight.

>It may take a while but why wait to die a slow death?

Well wouldn't that just be an argument against living?

>Did you know cigarettes are made with many toxic chemicals like rat poisioning? Who knows maybe the cigarette companies put anything they want in them. Maybe they like to mix in ammonia, poop, and bark. There is no ingredient label.

Well when Winston stopped putting additives in their cigarettes the anti-smoking groups got pissed off because they said there was no proof that it made the cigarettes any safer. But then, if that's the case, then the anti-smoking groups shouldn't have made all these advertisements implying that they did.

If I hadn't just gotten home from an Of Montreal concert, I might have found this odd. :P
