Maybe She...

I love to write..here's one of my recent pieces.

Maybe She…

Maybe she stopped caring

Because nobody else ever cared.

She never knew what was so great about life

Because she never felt alive.

Maybe she stopped trying

Because it never seemed to matter.

She became numb to the pain

Because feeling all the hurt was too much.

Maybe she stopped loving

Because she forgot what it felt like to be loved back.

She never stopped being happy

You just never looked close enough to realize she never was to begin with.

Maybe she let go

Because there was no reason to hang on.

She became hopeless

Because nobody would help her anyways.

It sounds good, keep on writing, that is the only way to get better! If you want some good books on improving your writing I would suggest the book that all other writing books recommend, "Elements of Style" by William Strunk and E.B. White.

Another excellent read is "The Short Prose Reader" by Gilbert H. Muller and Harvey S. Wiener. 11th Edition. That one contains loads of essays written by authors, encouragement for budding authors and an endless supply of tips that will help you chisel out your own style.

Good luck!

I write poetry too, and it is good to see someone else write poetry in this sort of way, free flowing emotions written out, and there is the mysterious ring to it too...

Kudos! I would post some of my stuff on my blog, but I'm not brave enough to let everyone read them lol.
