Lipstick to work

I’ve stopped wearing lipstick to work. Looking rad when you work in fast food is like wearing thermal gear to a pool party. No matter what you still leave smelling like chicken and street bums. Serving the public will make anyone want to take a sander to the face. Severe thanks to those rare few that distinguish us as functioning life forms. You know, the occasional consumer that allows the employees to keep their self-esteem at a high seven out of ten. Due to my co-workers mad macro sociological skills I‘ve noticed the more I work there, the less I see of these benevolent souls. There are more arrogant yuppies and ego freaks then ever before. It‘s ridiculous how little respect there is on both sides. I totally comprehend that I look like a freaking clown in my uniform and that we’re not always on the mark. But when you have 10 people waiting and a fryer just blew, mistakes are bound to happen. And for the younger crowd; stealing pop and spit balls, seriously?

One could say that everyone in this culture is rocking the personal ethnocentrism to its fullest. I’ve never realized how much we base our environment on social ranks. I know that I totally do it to, everyone does in some respect, but for the sake of riding the cliché train people need to realize that they aren’t talking to one of those talking trash cans at Disney World. Every single one of you guys whether a high paying Ad. executive or a stripper at the local pub, deserves respect. I understand that the fast food industry isn’t exactly full of Slap happy smiles ready to react with the utmost perkiness, but I do my job and I do it well. Days like this make me wish I could pull a MSI freak out just once. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SbbEwCODxpI )

Haha MSI freakout, nice.
I totally get you with this. I work in a short-order restaurant on my campus, and everytime I'm not working and I go in to eat, I just wanna yell at people that get all snippy when they can't move fast enough or accidentally put lettuce on a sandwich that didn't call for it.
We do the best we can. And I try never to be rude to customers, no matter how much they deserve it. But kudos for keeping your cool too!
