heres a rundown of things ive learned from datamining and fishing, insider exclusive info, and other sources. mind you these are all rumors and none have been confirmed so dont go getting your panties all up in a bunch.
1.Crysis 2 will be announced by the end of the year possibly at GDC -Crytek is already debuting the cryengine 2 running on the consoles to a few lucky insiders behind closed doors, the public is getting a look at the fully optimized engine running on a lowend PC that would cost $600 to build. it seems highly probably that Crysis 2 will be announced by the end of the year demostrating the engine pusjed even further.
2.A release date for HL2:EP3 will be announced - Valve has a tendency to delay games over and over again but by the end of the year we should get at the very least a date set for the release of the game if it doesnt come out this year
3.the 360 will reach its limit - this is the year we will start to see the 360 reach its limit. already games like mass effect and others have pushed the system and have cases of nasty slowdowns and long loading pauses or popups. while it does have some juice left in it we wont big increases in graphics and gameplay like weve seen in the past itll start to slow to 1 or 2 games a year that continue to stretch the system.
4.Death of the HD-DVD - the writings already on the wall with Warner Bros. being the latest to jump ship for Blu-Ray land the HD-DVD is on life support. there are more Blu-Ray players being sold and more Blu-Ray movies. it is only a matter of time befor eit is declared dead. also its losing in the storage format as well seeing as how its 15gb per layer cant compare to Blu-Ray's 25gb per layer.
5.360 to be declared winner of the console wars - by the end of this year even with the PS3's impressive lineup its still going to play second fiddle to the 360. the PS3 will most likely be regulated to the status of the xbox was although a bit higher up just because itll still have games since its only 2 years old right now. but by the end of this year people should be refering to the 360 the way the PS2 is refered to now.
6.Colverfield 2 will be announced - the movie left on a bit of a cliff hanger leaving chatrooms and forums abuzz with speculation. a sequel has all but been confirmed and will most likly be announced more defently byt the end of this year.
7. EA has something big up their sleeve to be announced soon - no idea what it is but this games is supossed to own. my friend's brother is working on it now and while hes under a NDA and can divulge details he said its looking to be amazing.
8.TF2+CSS getting new content and achievements - TF2 has already had a shipment of new achievements but watch out for more. also watch out for achievements for CSS after Left4Dead comes out.
