What's all the hype about Obama's pastor these days? He is anti-white, anti-upper-class, and anti-Republican, for sure. But what else is really going on with him and Obama and their views?
Obama, who is often misinterpreted as a Muslim, continuously portrays himself as a Christian in campaign. However, his pastor, Reverend Jeremiah Wright, blames "God Damn America" for racism and US policy for September 11 attacks. Does this sound like a Christian pastor to you? I certainly never learned that the appropriate words of a pastor were "God Damn", but rather that this was what NOT to say. I certainly never learned to disrespect the government. Rather, I learned that the Bible says in Romans to obey the laws of the governement. Further, that any authority over you was placed there by God. Now, what is the pastor, who is leading many Americans, doing to glorify God in either of these situations? The answer is nothing. The answer is that he is not only damaging Obama's reputation as a Christian but also damaging the reputation of the church in America. If Obama wants to win the vote of religious America, he has cut himself off from this pastor and this church. Who can blame him for this maneuver? For to remove oneself from the line of fire, and to remove onself from reproach, the only choice is for him to remove himself from that situation. Afterall, Obama is not the one saying these things, his pastor is. Therefore, we can't really use this against him any longer.

The new Pastor of Obama's church is also causing Obama political headaches. It is tough for Obama to try to pass himself off as a mainstream moderate when it keeps turning out that he is associated with extremists, terrorists, and criminals.
I like how the media continually brings up the "crazy-ranting-pastor." Omg he has so much influence over Obama just watch a debate Obama does and has the same views!!!! -NOT.
I think we should be more concerned with the REAL crazy people that are actually lobbying and endorsing the other candidates, McCain and Clinton both have some seriously shady supporters but who cares, Obama has some CRAZY pastor :/

Your blog was prescient. Obama just resigned from his Church.
But while you may think this absolves him of his 20 year association and that "we can't really use this against him any longer" I disagree.
He has now been a non-member of his church for about an hour. While I applaud him for finally disassociating himself from this obviously radical, questionably racist, arguably non-Chirstian and clearly anti-American institution, I still question his failure to take this step 19 and a half years ago and I plan to hold his lack of judgement in this matter against him.
I also hold the fact of his long association with a murdering terrorist against him.
And there is also the criminal who arranged for him to get an especially good deal on his home.
Barrack Obama can't run fast enough from his many past unsavory associations. It is fair to judge people by the company they keep.
Even Jesus disobeyed the pharisees. I'm sure this is just my perspective as a Black person, but I've listened to Wright countless times and I don't hear anything radical. All I hear is a man who's pissed off at hypocrisy in our government. I think many people who don't like Wright love their country so much that they can't fathom the government intentionally doing something that may harm its citizens. So when they hear harsh criticism it is interpreted as hate. I feel pretty much the same as Wright and i don't think there's anything wrong with that.
