I love facebook and myspace, they have helped me to keep in touch with friends who have gone away for college, but younger kids and irrsponsible people on the site (plus the creeps) makes me wonder about if I should even be on the site. At my school you start in seventh grade and although this is a great thing. Sometimes it gets in the way, like with facebook. The facebook creator said that he created the site to keep in touch with friends from college, which means only highschool students should be allowed to access it. And although I realize that this is the internet I'm talking about and there is no way to regulate who gets on, I still wish there was. Facebook and myspace gives people false courage, they don't have to deal with people's reactions to mean things that they say to them. They can say whatever they want and then if that person wants to talk back to them, they can just turn off the computer and not deal with it. And although facebook and myspace have their virtues they also have their sins and sometimes people need to realize when they are using facebook and myspace for good and not for evil.

i think myspace is leaning more towards the "evil" side nowadays. facebook hasn't gone too bad yet..

That's true; you can't really regulate who's on the internet, although by golly does Facebook try.
I hate facebook for the simple reason that it tells you EVERYONE'S BUSINESS.
And not having to really deal with people is another pro for the internet in general.
Facebook is going to become more like Myspace. First, only college students could join, then you could only join if a member invited you, and now it's a free-for-all. My thirteen year old brother and some of his friends have accounts on there. However, since the site has been opened to the general public, some privacy features have become available. You can make parts of your profile invisible to the public, unlike Myspace where you make your entire profile invisible.
haha i agree.
facebook/myspace causes so much trouble. It's so easy to confront someone online, or say things that you wouldnt normally say.
i think people should just still to traditional online use of e-mailing friends to talk.
People think they can hde behind their computer screens and say cruel things to one another because they don't have to face the retaliation of the other person. It's unfortunate that people gain so much courage to hurt others when they aren't faced with the prospect of being hurt themselves.
