News article you don't necessarily have to read: http://dsc.discovery.com/news/2008/03/07/mind-control-games.html
Okay, recap: a company called Emotiv has designed a gaming interface that reads your brain waves called the Epoc. This game interface will be available sometime near Christmas this year.
One thing I find interesting is that a little while after someone creates a game system that gets you (somewhat) off the couch, a new game system is created to keep you on the couch more than ever! Don't get me wrong, I think the idea of using mind control is incredible and awesome, but the fact still remains... we are going to be pushed back onto the couch.
Do these gaming companies want to do this? I'd like to think not, but the way things are looking maybe they are! I may be going out on a limb here, but do you think that they would have more of a market for people on couches? Lazy people? There are so many things directed toward the couch-potato market. And I hate to say it, but I'm using one right now: the internet. It's main objective is commercialism. To make money is one of the biggest parts of the internet and I'm willing to bet you can trace most things on the internet back to money.
That said, I think that the internet is a great place for many, many different reasons. I think that it can be used for a lot to better mankind, but it seems that the other objective is to make everything accessible from "your own home". In other words, your couch!
But I digress... these things such as internet have made life much easier for many people. Maybe not gaming systems as much, but you see what I mean. What is your opinion?

The internet has helped me to make more time so that I can keep up a workout routine, but I'm sure that most people don't use this saved time for exercise. It's one of those things that wouldn't be so bad if everyone didn't take advantage of it.
