Has anyone ever noticed that school food sucks? At my school they have decided that we are all obese and that we should eat healthy. They took away our Pepsi machines and threatened our snack machines. We have a rectangle pizza and a non-meat hamburger once every week. Our school officials believe that our cafeteria should serve healthier food, but truthfully, the food sucks. The food is so bad that it drives the students to the snack machines. If the school officials want us to eat healthier serve us food that we like. Put a salad bar in for crying out loud. That would help! We even get in trouble buying water during class time. A friend of mine went to the snack/drink machine and got a flavored water and a pop tart during a class that we do no work in (it's a yearbook class and we finished the yearbook already), and the vice-principal brought her back to class and changed the story around on her. I mean what is high school coming to these days, especially mine! It is so bad that I hate going to school. There are many times that I think about skipping and just going back to sleep. Is anyone else's school like this?

im kinda luckier then most on this issue. our schools lunchroom is set up like a food court, but they think we're all fat as well as they started replacing ingredients with healthier ones so all the food sucks anyways. they also took out all the sodas and replaced them with either diet or vitamin water.
it sucks but it could be worse.
Isn't that a GOOD thing? Schools should be serving healthier food... Health is something we should care about. I don't understand you people...
"We even get in trouble buying water during class time."
That's because you're supposed to be in class during class time. I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem to buy something before class and bring it in. This really has nothing to do with eating healthy.
Yeah, they did the whole health thing at my school to. No sugar, soda, anything fun. It sucks, but they still have triangle pizza, so that owns
i actually like food. I think it's good that schools want to be healthy, but at the same time they're not healthy! We get these quesdailla thingies that are dripping with oil...ew...but they are good.
If it is such a hassle, pack your lunch. When I was in high school they did that whole health food thing too, but you know what? I brought lunch everyday. I eat pretty healthy anyways, but that cafeteria food sucks.
Seriously, there aren't any excuses for not just bringing a lunch unless you are a little kid, and you aren't. It is cheaper too! Trust me, making your lunch is the best way to go.
Try it :]
I agree. I bring my lunch to school every day. It's a lot cheaper, plus I don't have to wait in the lines.
I realize that the sodas being gone isn't great, but if you brought your lunch, you could bring your own soda with it. Or, if your school still has diet sodas, you can try those. They really aren't as different as people think they are. Plus if you were to start drinking them regularly, you'd get used to them.

Yes bringing lunch to school would be a great idea...if we could do it...We are not allowed to bring "outside" food into the school. Not even a packed lunch!
That is THE most ridiculous thing I have EVER heard! I am astounded at that.
Wow that's aweful. I brought my lunch, sometimes i ate at the school, i likes our school lunches. lol i am weird, and if you put it in front of me, i'll try it. I have eaten everything from cow tounge to squid balls. lol. When you live overseas you tend to not be picky when it comes to food.

it seems fascist you're not allowed to bring in food from your own home. do you attend a public school? perhaps you ought to write your local chapter of the ACLU and raise some of these issues.
it seems as though your school is taking the cheap and easy way out, rather than offering a better physical education program aimed at the underlying cause of overweight school children (lack of exercise).
are other students at your school similarly unhappy? you should think about organzing a student petition with support from your parents (who I'm sure are not happy they have to shell out money every day for you to buy food at school). change starts with grassroots organization!
