The other day I left my backpack in the lobby in the front of my school, like all of my friends do everyday at lunch. When I came back an hour later, my $300 video ipod was gone.
Ok so it's just an ipod. All of my music was still at home on my computer, safe. And yeah its sucks not being able to listen to music during studyhall, but its just a material item you know? The thing that really bothers me is that for so long I wanted an ipod. It seemed like everyone was getting one for Christmas or their birthdays, and I was the only one who's parents couldn't afford to get me one. So when I got a job, it took me about a month but I saved up enough money to buy it myself. Thats a great feeling to earn something yourself and not just have it handed to you.
At my school, people steal ipods and sell them. It's not uncommon, but NOT RIGHT. Its not fair that one person can take all that hard work from me, and profit off of it. Thats just not fair. But this world isn't fair.
So after it happened, my boyfriend told me he knew where I could buy another one. Not Wall-Mart or Target, no, from some kid he knew who ended up with a stolen one. HAH.
"Why the HECK would I buy a stolen ipod? MY IPOD WAS STOLEN!" I yelled at him. That doesn't make ANY sense. I would rather have no ipod than buy a stolen ipod from some asshole at my school. Just thought I'd share.
PS. I wrote a long , much better blog about something unrelated...but it was deleated when my internet went down for a second. =( I'll rewrite it later. Don't you hate it when that happens?

People are stupid. Case closed. And you know the funny thing? If you'd gone to that shady iPod dealer, you'd probably be buying back your own iPod!

That sucks. It really does.
But, why would you leave your iPod unattended in a school where you know iPod theft is a common thing?
Maybe you could buy a stolen one... just look around for someone selling yours.
I hope you reported it stolen to someone. :-( If you're looking to replace it, though, look for a refurbished one online. It'll be substantially cheaper than buying another one new and it'll be in like-new condition.

before I even had an ipod I would walk around with my CD player and a CD case that held around 25 CDs. I left my bookbag in the front of the school one day thinking it was afe since it was after school and almost everyone had left, and when I got back everything was stolen except for my bookbag and books. In a new school they stole my favorite book, and my wallet that I had had since 3rd grade. I got my wallet back, but with nothing in it 3 weeks later. I know keep everything with me no natter where I go.
yeah its really sad that people do that. i remember in middle school, my dad said he would give me and my brother 10 dollars for every A we got on our report cards. well, i worked hard and got 9 A's, and i had the money in my bag with me at school. I walked to the library really fast during one class and when i came back, my wallet was empty. i was so pissed! lol. but yeah, now i definitely keep everything important on me.
