CRAIGS LIST FIASCO

OMG… I can’t believe how corruption can hit so close to home on Craig’s List. I put a laptop for sale and I got emails like this: See below:

All of these emails are SCAMS from people that live in Africa that are trying to commit identity theft. They have sent my fake paypal statements and links to fake paypal rerouting sites in the hopes of gaining my password. They doctor up paypal statements that allege that they have transferred the money, but when I log into my secure paypal site…the money isn’t there. These people have been pretty persistent, and I can see how they are able to scam a lot of people. This people are like sick maggots that are just looking to mooch off of whoever they can. Please be leery of emails like this, particularly if they have broken English and want the shipping to go to Africa. This is very suspicious.

Hi, Thanks for your response and am from aurora but presently am not in town and the item is meant as a surprise gift for my associate that works with british america tobacco in west africa and that is why I like to pay via paypal and I will be glad if you can help with the shipping via USPS ( global express mail) and that is why I add the extra for the shipping troubles.I will effect soon.

I actually want to buy the laptop for my son's birthday present. He is staying with his mum (my ex-wife) who works with the USIS in the resarch department in Africa. He laments that life over there is very boring although he is gradually adapting to the new environment.
