These are all books that influanced how I grew up and how I feel about things that happen to me. It's not all of them by a long shot but then again I have read myself though 3 or 4 entire libraries of books.
In no order they are must reads:
The Keeper of the Isis Light by Monica Hughes
Time for the stars by Robert A. Heinlein
The last Herald Mage series by Mercedes Lackey Book 1 Magic's Pawn
Arrows of the Queen Mercedes Lacky
The Sliver Crown by Joel Rosenberg
Deathwish World by Mack Reynolds with Dean Ing
Survey Ship by Marion Zimmer Bradley
The Robin and the Kestrel Mercedes Lackey One of my favorite gypsy books
books about the gpysies for real can be found in most libraies nonfiction sections and are esp. interesting reading...for one I found out when I was very little that the secert to life was in it.....find one and see if you can find out what that is.........
I won't bore you with a book report if you are interested in any of these books amazon.com has complete descriptions and places where you can make your own comments, also amazon.com is probibly the only place you would find most of these books as they are very old and rare.

You might like some of Heinlein's other works, my favorites are: Stranger in a Strange Land, The Moon is a Harsh Mistress, and I Will Fear No Evil.
I also really like the author Jacqueline Carey although I know she's not for everybody.
