I hate stupid people.

I was thinking about this earlier as I was laying on the sofa while the jocks in my first period were probably going over the SAT Question of the day. I am unfortunate enough to have first period math with all the "star" football players. Lucky me right? Well anyway, I was thinking about this boy that they torture when he comes in to collect our attendance. This boy's parents are Wiccan,  and they own the local Witchery (who would've thought that MY town would tolerate such a thing)(which, ironically, is right across the street from the Christian Training Camp). All  this guy's life I'm sure he has been tormented because of how he was raised. I'm fairly new so I was asking around about them to see why the football players had such a negative view of him. It turns out he and his siblings have been telling people that they'll put a spell on them if they talk crap to them or about them. Which led me to my next thought, why would these people who are a part of such a good and loving religion claim that? I'm sure that any Wiccan here can agree with me that Wiccan's have had to overcome lots of diversity in order to be sort of accepted in a few places. Why would these people let other people believe that Witches are exaclty how they are portrayedin the media? One jock in particular now calls the boy Narnia. I'm pretty much certain that the movie has no similarities to real witches. I understand that they say those things to protect themselves and to put a wall up but if it was me I'd see it as an oppertunity to teach those bible thumping hypocrites what Wicca was really about. I tried but i just ended up flustered and pissed. Later on one of my firends told me that Jock was all upset because someone had called him a dumb close minded jock and she had told him that if it fits, why was he upset. After I said something to her about it (for being one of the "popular" people she's pretty cool) she knew immediatly that it was me.

In other dumb football player news. Lately, our town was slightly shaken up. For a small place there is a lot of controversy. A bunch of the JV Football players got caught in a hazing scandel. What happened was they held down a boy and forced themselves upon him. Basically, they mouth raped him and he was in 7th grade. Because they were football players you know what happened to them? NOTHING. They got kicked off the team, had minor chrges filed against them but other than that, nothing. Our football coach is hopeful and wants the boys to return to the team next year. It's just absolutely wrong. If they had been anyone else the would have been kicked out of school but since they're football players it's all good. What does that teach them? Hey, because you play football you can get away with anything? What if that was a girl they were doing that to? What if it'a a girl that they do that to next? Are they just going to get off the hook again? These were freshman that did that to the boy. All the upper classmen(except the football players of course) were absolutely disgusted that nothing happened to them. This happened the same week that a good friend of mine had guns found in her car that she didn't even know were in there. Her boyfirend had taken the car and forgot to get them out. She was pregnant, living on her own, and trying desperately to finish high school. She had only missed a few days where she had doctors appointments. You know what happened to her? She got kicked out of school while the rapist get to stay. How freaking pathetic is that?

Wow. Some stories. Jocks are just like that. My town is small and full of them. I'm one of the few people who isn't a jock and I get by fine only because I have a large network of friends in the school from freshmen to seniors and beyond (those who have graduated but still come by every so often). It's wrong and the only thing you can do is stand up for those being picked on. Keep an eye on him and help him out when you can.
As for the seconds story, it's dead wrong they weren't charged. It's sad when football players are above the law (of HS and some regular laws too) just because of the town you live in. ALso I would kill her friend's boyfriend. But there is nothing she can do about it, school rules are school rules.
