I was wondering if anyone had an interested in discussing a little bit about history, especifically of the nature of World War I. I just want to take an opportunity to open up and speak about the revolution that longed in the many years in Russia, as the direct result of Russia's involvement in World War I, when it wasn't well equipped and prepared to moblize its army as fast the Germans were able to. Focusing on the revolution that set up a rioting civil war in the imment land of the Soviet Union, one can begin to discern that the Treat of Brest-Zitovsk accounted for a large part of it. It granted Germany a large portion of Russia's pre-existing and controlled land. And thus, the Bolsheviks, a group of revolutionaries that came into the being in Russia took action in response to the treaty fighting their opponents who classified them selves as the White Army who were content with Russia as it is. The Bolsheviks, the Red Army wanted to set up a different type of government, which would be similar of a communist one to provide equality among its citizens. But the Red Army preferred to astray from the Bolsheviks ideals and goals.
Unforunately, in due time Stalin, the "Man of Steal," became an over-powering dictator controlling every aspect of the Soviet Union, and within his ruling as a demagogue, he was able to enforce a totalitarian agressive government, in which he utilized a secret police through the means of tanks and armed cars to make sure that no one had the freedom to express their views and ideas. He controlled the minds, lives, and their opinions. Through his "fear of terror" rule, everyone obeyed him and most important as he thought it was, they feared him.
His second step to aiding the Soviet Union in returning on the road to become a rigid country, competiting with the West, he set a economic policy, through command economy by implement two 5 year plans. He outlined in his Five-Year Plans impossibly high quotas by increasing the output of steel, coal, oil, and electricity. In addition to reach his targets, he limited production of consumer goods, where as a consequence of his actions, people faced severe shortages of housing, food, and clothing.
Please comment, and I hope I hear from a crowd of people that are passionate about World History.

Although I have studied history I recommend you grab a copy of 1984. It talks about warfare in the future (today) and it explains alot. Don't be discouraged by the first couple pages. At first it's really hard to read! Its by George Orwell.
I'm a big fan of history. My personal favorites to study are the late Middle Ages and 18th and 19th century Europe. The history of the criminal justice system is also pretty awesome.
