People truly amaze me. The thoughts, ideas, and beliefs pouring out from everyone just on this site is enough to intimidate me and take a few shots at my self confidence. I seriously started this blog 5 different times in an attempt to make it sound deep and profound so people would be moved to read it. But my writing will never equal some of the others on this site, and I'm not going to kid myself that it ever could. So here it is, my FIRST ever blog. This is ME.
I am a senior in high school who still has no idead where I'm going to college next year. My first choice is Notre Dame, but I don't find out if I'm in or not until April. Why do they do this to me? But I love that school. You know how all the college sites say you should just "feel" something when you step onto the campus? I felt it. My mom and I stopped to listen to the marching band practice and I promptly burst into tears when they played the fight song. So I'm a sap, shoot me.
I love to dance. At a studio, on a team, at a dance, or in my room. I'm typically a shy person, but not when I dance. I love love love it.
I'm a huge football fan. Our high school team is pretty beast, I live for Friday nights in the fall (or I used to, last season this year...). I love the Fighting Irish, even though they um, kind of, well BLEW this year. I have hope though. And I'm a pretty big Carolina Panthers fan too.
I love to read and write. Yes, I'm a nerd. I love Harry Potter, Jane Austen, and most recently, the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer. These books are amazing, if you haven't read them- go out and get them!
And, among other things, I love music (anything really), movies, food, basketball, the discovery channel, america's next top model, project runway, youtube, facebook's bumper sticker application, summer, laughing until it hurts, mexican food, monopoly, my friends, and my family.
Hopefully over my next few blogs you guys can get to know my thoughts and passions and inner workings. or whatever else it is you're supposed to discover on these things...

Not bad for a first try. You sound like a fun person. I look forward to reading future postings. Good luck getting into Notre Dame!
Hey today was my first time too.
You did great =]
Not bad, not bad at all. A few tips, if you don't mind (which you shouldn't, in order to succeed at ProU you have to be open-minded to listening to others :p):
1. Don't take shots at yourself. Don't call yourself inferior, because why should I want to read the blog of someone inferior?
2. Aside from your intro post (which is fine btw, except for the part about being inferior), talk less about yourself and more about issues. If it's a personal experience you're writing about, make sure it's relevant and interesting to the average reader on ProU.
3. Try to be original. If there's been five posts on abortion that way, please don't post a sixth, unless it's utterly fresh and unique.
4. Keep your thoughts clear and concise. Don't do free-flow writing and post it here - if you post stuff here, it should be a polished final draft that you could just as easily turn in to a college class. That doesn't mean it has to be written in academic language, just that you should be clear, use examples, back up your points with evidence, and ALWAYS cite your sources.
Good luck! :)
