Bracket was busted yet again

Well once again like millions of men and women I was drawn to doing some bracket pools for the Men's NCAA tournament. Now I follow the advice of those I consider smarter than myself which in this case is about 87 percent of the country. I knew that high seeds get upset, I knew no final four has had all number 1 seeds in it, and I knew the dirty secret that Texas was trying to parlay the strategy Syracuse used with Carmelo Anthony 3 or 4 years ago into their strategy with Freshmen Phenom Kevin Durant and it could possibly work. What I didn't know was behind all the football, partying and free rides in USC that they actually had a pretty good basketball team. Of course that information was handed to me personally when I watched the Trojans lay the wood to the Texas Longhorns last night.  Oh well there's always next year and by the way, hey Wisconsin, thanks for showing up yesterday, very little effort in the first half and you had an uphill struggle the rest of the way.

The one thing though that I was not surprised by and called in all of my brackets was the early exit by the Duke Blue Devils. THATS RIGHT, the University of College Basketball in America was bounced on the first round. The funny thing was listening to experts talk about Duke days before hand as though they were a distant memory. They guaranteed a Duke loss much like the way a weatherman in Phoenix is gonna tell you it's gonna be hot outside any day of the week. The loss though is not all bad, sometimes in sports it's a humbling experience to have an early loss, reminds you that you are never entitled to your place among champions that you have to work for your rewards.

I'm still interested though in the tournament with teams like Florida looking for a repeat and teams like UCLA who are looking to make another championship game with hopefully different results
