There's a place that I call home. A small, tainted area of about 12,000 people. All of my life, I have dreamed of becoming something that could help others. Maybe not become famous or rich, but to help others. I have big dreams. However, in my small town, there are several people who don't even have dreams. There are so many people that I went to school with in elementary school who didn't even make it to their junior or senior year. Not because they couldn't, but because they wouldn't. The high school drop out rate grows every year. There are more and more people who are working full time in a fast food restaurant. There are people who are becoming lazy these days, who don't even dream beyond their imagination. They take life the simple way. However, life is not simple. It's full of challenges and obstacles that many are not willing to take. It won't be a nice thing to experience to one day come back home to see old friends of mine working at a fast food place raising children. I grew up with so many people that fell behind me. My best guy friend use to be two grades above me, but even by the time I graduated, he still had another year to go. People just give up. If you work hard in the beginning, it will all soon pay off in the end.

Maybe that is how you should help others. You could be a high school teacher or counselor, showing kids all the opportunities they have. Or work at a technical college (or maybe even open one when you have enough experience.) I know these might not sound glorious or important like doctor or something, but this sounds like something that is important to you, so you could do a lot of good. And congratulations for having big dreams.
