There is a lot going in Hawaii. So Much ..that it is at times too much to handle. Let's see. Let's list some things going on:

On Oahu:
1. Expansion of Ala Moana:
What! That's great and all .. but, they're adding about 30 more stores? I mean .. Ala Moana Shopping Center is already one of the largest malls in the world .. and the want to make it bigger?

Not to mention ... There's only 800 parking stalls! Don't people know that there's already about 800 employees working there? .. maybe more? They should at least expand the parking lot too .. or make an area for employee parking or something .. so the employees don't have to take up the other stalls.

On Kauai:
There is A LOT going on here ... It's kind of HECTIC!!

1. 2 or 3 more resorts being built in Poipu ... What! Hello! .. aren't there enough Hotels and Resorts in Poipu ..not to mention, THE WHOLE ISLAND!!

2. They are also cleaning up acres of land to be ready for more houses to be built .. in Poipu too!!! What!! Koloa/Poipu is CRAZY as it is .. now it's going to be even worse.

3. They are knocking down Monkeypod trees (in Koloa!!!) to make another little shopping center. I mean .. that's great and all because Kauai kinda needs more things to do. But, why Koloa of all places? That's just like 10 min. away from Lihue, where the other mall is.

Craziness i tell you .. CRAZINESS!!!!

It got so crazy .. that for a few months there was a protest going on about the monkeypod trees. But, I guess in the end they made an agreement to keep people off their backs ... there are 37 existing monkeypod trees in the Koloa area. Of those 37 trees .. they've agreed to only cut down 12, relocate 5, and keep 20 standing.

That's interesting. I guess it doesn't seem as big of a deal to me because I live in New York (everything's always getting expanded)
