Almost there!

Can you believe it? 23 hours to go before the official end of this semester's Blogging For Progress Scholarship.

Beginning tomorrow afternoon at 12:01 PM PST, our group of student volunteers (The Alumni Association's Faculty Members) will begin reviewing blog entries and comments, adding in points from Bonus Point Opportunities, and adding up read counts on everyone's blog.

Finally, you'll be able to take a breath and pat yourself on the back for surviving the contest with at least most of your sanity still in tact.

So what's next? While we're getting busy totaling points and determining the winners, we hope that you will stick around and continue to blog and discuss the issues that are important to you. After all, these issues don't stop being important simply because the contest is over, right?

Some of you may find yourselves invited to join the Alumni Association as a member; Members of the Alumni Association are bloggers who have been around Progressive U for at least one contest period and left their mark. They are generally known for their high participation and their level of commitment to the Progressive U mission. Yes, members of the Alumni Association are still eligible for future Blogging for Progress Scholarships. If you find yourself receiving an invitation, we hope you will join the next "Graduating Class" of Progressive U!

While we prepare for the next contest, you'll see a few changes being implemented to the website as well. We are always discussing new features and services as well as improvements to existing features. If you have any suggestions, feel free to leave a comment here or email us at ideas[at]progressiveu.org.

What do you do now? This is completely up to you. With only less than 23 hours to go until this contest officially ends, your options are limitless. You may continue blogging and interacting on others' blog entries and forum topics; or you may choose to use this time to go through your own blog entries and check for things like relevance, tag usage, and other things.

But What about the Featured Bloggers? We will continue featuring bloggers based on your nominations even after the contest officially ends. Those of you who have submitted nominations for bloggers to be featured will receive your points even if a selected blogger has not been featured yet. We will also continue to accept nominations for new bloggers to be featured, so keep those nominations coming!

How do I know if I won or not? Quite frankly, we don't know who won this semester yet. Totaling the points between reads and Bonus Point Opportunities is likely to take about 2 weeks. If you do win, you will be sent an email verifying your address and information, as well as all the legal stuff that's too boring for a simple blog entry like this one. After the winners have been notified, we will make the official announcement here on the site.

I feel as though I have really gained a voice because of ProgressiveU. I have become a much more assertive person; I have been challenged to my limit; I have shed a few tears and a few more laughs. It has been great, and I certainly will continue to blog even after the contest! Thank you ProgressiveU for allowing me to have a voice that is heard!

yes, I feel as if I have gained a voice too. And even though I have been naive and ignorant, I am truly enjoying the journey ahead of me and learning from my mistakes. Perhaps i will stay, but we shall see.

Call me pessimistic, but I have a bad feeling that there's going to be a surge in random blogs over the next 23 hours.

Anyway...this was intense. It remains intense. And it shall be intense until the server crashes on Judgement Day. I'm sticking around for quite some time. You can't get rid of me! Ah hahahaha! Owned!

I think i'll shot myself if that starts happening...

Well, if it will make you shoot yourself, then I'll start now. Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah.
I refuse to do anything impulsive. If I have nothing blog-worthy, which I don't, at the moment (and am unlikely to for various reasons), then I won't post something. If I lose, I lose. That's the good thing about being a pessimist, eh?

Well as you see, a few of the contestants are already posting ad nauseum blog, after blog...

I did. (Yes, a pointless comment to cram in points by the end.) :))

Actually, I didn't see that many blogs posted so...and still its pointless because you wont get that many reads in 23 hours.

This is an awesome platform for so many voices and such elegant categorical sections. Blogging at Progressive U has made me a better writer, educator and student. Thanks to everyone!
