Perspective; That's what the world needs: Perspective.
I am fed up with sitting through economics class and hearing about how a free market accomplishes things like eliminating discrimination and creating automatic equilibrium and giving people in third world countries a few more grains of rice to split up amongst themselves through globalization. It isn't right, and I'm sick of hearing about how caring about the welfare of your own brothers (didn't we come from the same seed?) doesn't matter, because free market capitalism accomplishes more than what we could if we actually considered the lives of Indian and Guatemalan children. "As if by an invisible hand..." I can't stand economic conservatives that quote Adam Smith's Wealth of Nations and condone exploitation, I don't care how many more cents I have to pay so that SOMEONE ELSE'S children will be eating dinner tonight too. The world isn't made up of only predictable formulas and graphs; there are REAL people out there. Conviction, my friends, conviction.
If there are people pocketing billions of our dollars each year, why can't labor finally become fair? But let those hard working individuals pocket all that money, they earned it-- Wait, didn't they establish all the prices in the first place? What about the hard working people who can't make enough to support their family? Starve with a sick third-world type "dignity" that economic Conservatives encourage or wait in the welfare lines to "suck at the socialist mother's teat" and collect "benefits" -- Well, What kind of benefits? The benefit of not letting your children go to sleep HUNGRY. In fact, I could teach American yuppies a thing or two about the failing social programs of this country. Discretion, my friends, discretion.
I am not sorry; it makes me furious to see how humans are squandering the Earth's resources and claiming them as their own -- who gave them the right? I don't care who your God is -- science or Allah or Adonai, children never deserve to starve. "They shouldn't have had those kids!" Then keep abortion legal. Or, stop teaching abstinence only in schools and hand out condoms and allow the minor to purchase Plan B. Or, better yet, change your opinion on food stamps. And please, never run for office, I BESEECH you.
