Did you all hear about this this high school teacher that asked his students so write and essay about who they would kill and how they would get away with it? This happened in St. Joseph Mo. recently and just made the news today. Apparently one of the students parents found out about the assignment and complained to the school board. The teacher has publically apologized for his lapse of judgement, he will not lose his job for this according to the article?
How do you all feel about this? Should teachers be able to make assignments like this? Is there anything to learn from this kind of assignment? Should the teacher be fired for this?

That's crazy! Let's just give kids the idea that it's ok to go around shooting people at school! What was that teacher thinking? If my kid came home with an assignment like that I would be extremely upset. Most parents try to instill in their children that when they have a problem to talk to some one about it, not to go around killing people! I'm surprised that teacher didn't get into more trouble for assigning something like that to his class.
Those assignments are especially popular in psychology classes. Do you know what class this was for?
The article I read said that it was a drafting class. I guess it was just an exercise to get their imagination going.
