I apologize for calling you all schmucks (you schmucks!), but all this debate about gay rights, gay marriage, union, and all that idiotic stuff is bothering the unholy hell out of me. The answers are so obvious; I don't even know why you people are still arguing about it. Seriously, guys? Gay rights? What's wrong with you? Why are you still talking about this?
First, let's set up my three prong attack (it's like a trident) here: first, the pursuit of happiness. Next, separation of church and state. Finally, discrimination.
Pursuit of Happiness
Do you guys remember that nifty little thing called the Declaration of Independence in which we declared the right to pursuit of happiness?
If you're not going to let gay people get what they want (i.e., marriage, or union--some people don't even want them hooking up, period), then that's a violation of that law. They're not endangering anybody (unless you actually believe you can 'turn gay', which is akin to believing in cooties), sucking the system, or harming anything in any way possible. Except, of course, for the fact that marriage takes place under a religious figure (priest, rabbi, etc.) most of the time. That brings me to my next subject.
Separation of Church and State
Do you remember that nifty thing?! Separation of church and state?! It's a little law that says religious affairs and government/legal affairs do NOT mix, nada, NEVER. There's a very good reason for this! Except, for some reason, people seem to go to find a rabbi or a priest to get married--even my athiest parents did it. Obviously, there is something fundamentally wrong with this, since marriage is a legal action--and in fact, marriage seems to be defined as "holy matrimony" between "man and woman"--now, that's fine and good, except for the fact that it's completely based on religious beliefs. Some homosexuals might feel threatened by their church because of their lifestyle, but I say: if your church is bashing your style, get out.
Did you know that every church and belief system claims that their God is the REAL God (hmmm)? Why should you believe the Episcopal Church over any other? It's a win-win situation, either way! (Psst, hint, guys; you're all talking about the same God, so no worries.)
So! It should not be allowed that gays can marry or be unified under a sect that strongly believes AGAINST it; after all, it's their rule and is based wholly on religion (wait, marriage is based on religion? there's a problem here--can YOU find Waldo?). However, you're free to go to any other division of that religion or a whole new religion entirely that permits it. If you feel upset by this as a homosexual, I only have to ask: why are you with a religion that is out to get you?
But! There's still hope--you can get married by a Justice of the Peace, who is not affiliated with any religion for the service. I don't know the details of it, so you can look them up. Or, if you want to get married on the high seas, the captain of a ship can do it for you (arr!).
But guys, why is marriage based around religious rites? Guys?
Pure Discrimination
Now, let's face facts, folks. Homophobia is no better than racism. Racism is no better than disliking someone severely because they have a different nose shape than you. Basically, they're all the same and all idiotic and ignorant. You cannot catch "teh gay", so shut up. Asking someone to be gay is like asking someone why they decided to be born black, white, asian, pacific islander, european, or anything. If I were in their shoes, I would say, "I don't know, but I'm sure I had a very good reason at the time."
Homosexuality is a lifestyle, just like heterosexuality. There are even homosexuals who bash on heterosexuality, believe it or not (my word, WE'RE being bashed by the homosexuals? why, it's almost as if... as if they have opinions of their own!). So is bisexuality, or lesbianism. Now, tell me, how many guys dislike lesbianism?
...
Moving on! I'm not even sure why this is an issue. Just like the black people were kept down because of discrimination, they rose up. (Ironically enough, discrimination and fear is STILL rampant in "civilized" America.) So will the homosexuals; this isn't merely a legal issue for the good of the people--it's a legal issue for the rights of men themselves, as human beings and their freedom to do what they will. The only reason this is even an issue is because of religion. And, guys, section two, right? Separation of church and state?
En Conclusion
Seriously, what is wrong with you people? Why are you even arguing about this?
What the hell, guys?
